The program is intended to images compression by JPEG standard.
It is based on a new algorithm, which allows to compress images
better than a majority of commonly-known programs. Created files
are fully compatible (in baseline mode) with all JPEG viewers.

During a creation of Web pages with many pictures, the usage of JPEG Imager
will allow to optimize these pictures for size and decrease their loading
time significantly without a loss of their quality.

  Main features:
- Smart filtration (reduction of high frequency artefacts).
- Optimization of DCT quantization matrices for individual images.
- Different subsampling modes.
- Easy thumbnail generation.
- Progressive mode support.
- Comment editing feature.


What's new in the version 0.7 ?

The following capabilities have been added:

- Pasting an image from the clipboard and GIF files importing.
- Now image or several images may be dragged and dropped onto
  the main program form or images' list form.
- Full-screen viewing.
- Processing of groups of files.

The following changes have also been made:

- An appearance of some buttons has been changed.
- Capability to set a default destination folder for auto saving of
  thumbnails has appeared.
- Percentage of used memory is now shown in the status bar.
- Some other make-up has been done.

The help file is now included into the package!


Coming in future versions:

- Correction of known bugs.
- Speeding up compression and decompression.
- Expanding of supported file formats (Targa, PCX, PNG).
