CCS Dir/File Compare Utility 4.98.300

This program allows you to take a snapshot of a selected directory and/or sub-directories
and store this information to a file.  The program will store directory and file names as
well as file size, date time of last modification, and file attributes.  You may then load
that information back in at a later date and compare the same directory and have the 
program show you which dir/files have been added, deleted, or changed.

Using The Program:

First select a directory that you wish to gather dir/file information about in the edit
window at the top of the screen.  You may type the directory path in directly or select
the directoy by clicking on the folder button at the end of the edit box window.

Then select whether you wish to include sub-directory information and if you wish to store
only dir file name information.

You may also choose to Include or Exclude files by their extension.  To do this select the
menu otpion "Extensions|Setup Extensions..." This will bring a screen to allow you to enter
file extensions to include or exclude.  These file extensions will be stored so that you
will not have to re-enter them everytime you run the program.  Everytime you switch between
the Include or Exclude option it will update the extension list.  When you close the window
it will update the Extensions you have entered.  * You may only select one option (Inc/Exc)
when storing dir/file information *.  Once you have entered you extensions you my select 
which one to use by selecting the appropriate menu item "Extensions|Select Info by Included
Ext's" or "Extensions|Select Info by Excluded Ext's". 

After selecting all your options simply press the "Get Info" button and it will load the
information into the window directly below the button.  Once finished you may imdediately
press the "Compare" button and it will compare the same directory choosen to the information
in the window above.  You may also choose to save the information by selecting the 
"File|Save Current Dir Info".

After you have pressed the "Get Info" button and all the information has been 
loaded into the window you may select files to compress into a zip compresion file
so that it may be restored at a later date.  Simply highlight the the files you wish
to zip and press the "Zip Files" button and follow the dialog options for choosing
the file name to save it under.

You may also choose which pieces of file information to compare against.  This is under
the menu otpion "Options".  If you select "All" then all are compared.  That is, it will
compare the Size, Date, & Attributes against the file info you previuouly stored.  Or you
may select any combination of the three.

You may clear the the information by pressing the "Clear" button or selecting
"File|Clear Directory Info" to start a new directory but it is not required.  You may simply
select a new directory and other otpions and press the "Get Info" button

If you wish to compare the information you have saved to a file at a later date simply
select the menu option "File|Load Existing Dir Info" and choose the file you want.  This
otpion will load all Dir/File info and all options you used when storing the dir/file info
so that after loading all you ahve to do is press the "Compare" button.

After it has showed you which files have changed you may highlight the files that you
wish to restore from your previously stored zip file and press the "UnZip Files" button.
This will restore those file to the same directory that they were zipped from.  This 
will overwrite the existing file from the zip file.

You may view the extensions that you last used when storing the information by selecting the
menu otpion "File|Show Last Extensions Used".
