Toon is the cartoon role playing game. The world inwhich it is set is a cartoon. There is two rules which you should follow when playing Toon: 1)forget everything you know about role playing games, 2)act before you think. I will generate you character for you, all I need from you is a description. Tell me what it is, it can be anything from a toaster to a human. Tell me how strong, dexterous, smart, and how much nereve does it have, by nerve I mean if it were a mouse, would it mind bitting the lion on the tail? I also need to know if it is good at any particular skill or skills, if there is something(s) you want you character to be good at, tell me and I'll make it so. I also need to know what your characters goal(s) in life are, what is it's purpose in life? Also tell me if it has any natural enimies. Next you need to tell me what Shticks you want it to have. Below is the list, choose one; you can take two if you want, but it takes away from your skills. The points indicate how much the shtick will take away from your skills. A word of warning, shticks don't always work, unusually things happen when they fail. Shticks Bag of Many Things(5pts.) Pull anything you want. Doesn't have to be a bag. Change Shape(5pts.) Make yourself something/one else, but always retains general apperance. Coat of Arms(4pts.) Inspector Gadget. Must specify what you have. Detect Item(2pts.) Flying(4pts) Needed to fly, even if you're a bird. Hypnosis(5pts) make people do things Incredible Luck(3pts) Helps in dodging and once per adventure can determine what hapens in a normally random occuence. Incredible Speed(6pts.)Road Runner Incredible Strength(5pts) Invisibility(pts) Remain invisible aslong as you don't get hit or do something that would give away youur pressence. Pet or Sidekick(3pts) In order for your side kick to do something you want, you must convince it to do it. Each time you try it costs you a plot point (experience). Quick Change/Disguise(3pts) You can make yourself look like something/one else. Stretching(3pts) Teleport(6pts)Only within sight. Each Toon has a certain amount of hit points from 2-12. When a toon looses all of it's plot points, it doesn't die, but rather it falls down and is out of the action for three turns. After the three turns I decide where the toon reappears, unless some other toon is making special precautions against that toon. Your character gets eight items for equipment, four "normal" items and four unusually items. One of the unusually items can be a gizmoe. A gizmoe is a generic item that isn't anything until you say what it is, but the gizmoe is then stuck that way for the rest of the adventure. You may start out with one gizmoe at no cost. In Toon, there is a thing called illogical logic. Basicly if your dumb enough you don't know something shouldn't work. Example, the Road Runner runs across a chasm with out falling, the Road Runner doesn't know he should fall, so he doesn't, but when Coyote runs across the same chasm, he falls because he's a genius and knows what happens when someone steps off a cliff. There are four locations in Toon: Anytown, Outside of Town, The City, and Outer Space. ANytown is your typical small town, The City is the city, Outside of town is any place or time not found in The City or Anytown, Outerspace has everything not found on Earth. Every toon can make signs instantly, al a Coyote. Signs can only be used once for hitting someone over the head or making a fire. How to get plot points. Everytime you make someone fall down you get a plot point, every time you fall down you loose a plot point. Every time you make a natural enemy fall down you get an extra plot ploint.Get a plot point for being consistant with your beliefs and goals. Any one that makes me roll with laughter gets a plot point. Each adventure is worth a set number of plot points that you will recieve upon its completion. Plot ploints are the experience points of Toon. There are several things which you can use plot points for. 1)Used to improve skills(2pts) or shticks(4pts.) Done between adventures. 2)Used to buy gizmoes. 1 point per gizmoe. Done before adventure. 3)Used to buy one-shot shtick. One point per Shtick. Done during the adventure, you must have the plot point to spend right then.
