DUBBEL is a Solitaire game for the Windows environment.

This version of DUBBEL is an update to the first release.

If you've used the first release of DUBBEL, please refer to
the section on game file conversion for games saved. 

System requirements
-------------------
IBM compatible 286 CPU or higher.
1Mb RAM or more.
Color VGA or SVGA Video system
Microsoft Windows v3.00 or higher environment.
Mouse or keyboard. 


Installation
------------
Create a subdirectory or choose an existing one and copy
all the files in this package to that directory.

In the Program Manager, create a group or a choose an existing
one, and add an icon for the DUBBEL executable file.


Different ways to run the game
------------------------------
1. Double-click on the DUBBEL icon 

2. From the File menu, choose Run, find and select DUBBEL.EXE, then OK

3. In the File Manager, find DUBBEL.EXE, double-click or choose Run then OK.

4. In the File Manager, associate a saved game (.DBL file) with DUBBEL.EXE
   This allows you to double-click on a saved game and load the game at once.

5. On the command-prompt, type WIN DUBBEL [filename.DBL] 
   [filename.DBL] - Name of a saved game.    


File conversion for DUBBEL v1.00 saved games
--------------------------------------------
The games saved with DUBBEL v1.00 are incompatible with DUBBEL v1.10.
A conversion program is provided with this package, to allow users of v1.00 
who've saved their unfinished games, to be able to convert to the new file
structure.
To convert a file from the old version to the new version of DUBBEL, run
OLD2NEW as follows:

   OLD2NEW <old filename> <new filename>

For example,

   OLD2NEW winning winner
   OLD2NEW oldgame.dbl newgame.dbl
   OLD2NEW best.dbl c:\dubbel\worse.dbl
   OLD2NEW a:\saved d:\win

Sorry, no wildcards (*.DBL).
