INTRODUCTION

  Fractals are bizarre mathematical objects possessing an infinitely 
  detailed structure. Fractal geometry has become increasingly popular in 
  recent years because it often does a better job of modeling nature than 
  ordinary high school geometry.

  FractalWeave is an image generator which uses fractal-based patterns
  to construct scenes of astonishing complexity and beauty. By varying a 
  small number of parameters, you can create a practically infinite 
  variety of stunning images.

INSTALLATION

  To install FractalWeave, simply copy the above files into any 
  convenient directory. Sample commands are given below.
  
  Installing from a distribution disk in drive A: to a directory on C:

    C:                          ; change to C drive
    CD \                        ; change to root directory
    MD FRACWIN                  ; create a new directory off root
    CD FRACWIN                  ; change to the new directory
    COPY A:*.*                  ; copy the files

  Installing from a ZIP file in C:\DOWNLOAD to a directory on C:

    CD \                        ; change to root directory
    MD FRACWIN                  ; create a new directory off root
    CD FRACWIN                  ; change to the new directory
    COPY \DOWNLOAD\FRCWIN.ZIP   ; copy zip file
    PKUNZIP FRCWIN              ; unarchive the files
    DEL FRCWIN.ZIP              ; delete copy of archive

  Once the directory has been created, create a new Program Item for 
  FractalWeave in one of your Windows groups:

    1. Select the Windows group to which you wish to add FractalWeave.
    2. Select File | New from the Program Manager Menu.
    3. Select Program Item and press <Enter> or select OK.
    4. Fill in the Program Item Properties Box. For example, if the
       program files are in the C:\FRACWIN directory, you would enter
        
        Description: FractalWeave for Windows
        Command Line: FRACWIN
        Working Directory: C:\FRACWIN
        Shortcut Key: None

    5.  Press <Enter> or select OK to close the dialog box.
 
  For additional help, choose "Search for Help On" from the Program 
  Manager Help menu, and search for the topic "program items, creating".

  Detailed information about using the program is provided in the
  on-line help.  To access the on-line help, select an item from the
  program's Help menu, or press the F1 key.  (If a menu item is 
  highlighted, pressing F1 displays on-line help for that menu item,
  otherwise the Help Contents screen is displayed.)

DIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL, WHICH MAY RESULT FROM THE USE OF FRACTALWEAVE 
FOR WINDOWS.

If you do not accept this disclaimer, do not use FractalWeave for Windows.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

FractalWeave is a shareware program. You may copy and distribute it
freely, and use it without charge for a period of 30 days. If you
continue to use the program beyond the initial evaluation period,
please register it.

Registration entitles you to technical support in the program's use, 
notice of and reduced price for any upgrades, and that warm feeling of
personal satisfaction that comes from doing the proper and noble
thing.

The registration fee for FractalWeave is $19.95 (US). As a
registration bonus, the companion FractalSave Screen Saver program is
included free with registration of FractalWeave. DOS versions of both
programs are also available.
