Welcome to the Arts & Letters SpaceAGE Guided Tour. Along
the way you will see and hear some of the more spectacular
sights and sounds of this award-winning multimedia encyclo-
pedia, endorsed by The National Space Society and featured
on CNN Future Watch. SpaceAGE is one of the Arts & Letters

installed automatically and the SpaceAGE icon will appear
in the program group.

Using SpaceAGE on a 16-Color Monitor

SpaceAGE is intended to be played on a color monitor and
card that support 256 colors or better. However, SpaceAGE
can be played and used on a monitor and card that support
only 16 colors.

A 256-color image will appear washed out when played in 16
color mode. If the images are not brilliant and crisp and
you know you have at least a 256 color monitor and card,
refer to your monitor and card User Guides to select and
change drivers.

Optimizing SpaceAGE Video Clips

SpaceAGE Theater video clips are of the highest quality that
technology and allowances for disk space afford today. Here
are a few tips to get the best quality video reproduction.

a. Open the Control Panel in the Windows Program Manager.
b. Select the driver called MPEG Decompressor for Microsoft
   AVI.
c. Select Setup.
d. In the scrolling list of drivers for video display cards,
   select the one that matches your card. Once you have
   chosen the appropriate driver turn off the selection for
   DIB Mode on the right hand side of the dialog box. If
   there is none available leave the setting for DIB mode
   on (default, this will work on all card/monitor combina-
   tions). If you are not sure of the make of your card,
   contact your card manufacturer for information.
