Unprotect for 'The Games (Summer Edition)'


 BE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR 'THE GAMES' DISK BEFORE STARTING AND USE THE
 BACK UP FOR THE UNPROTECT.
 Modify only the backup copy!!!

 First you should rename the file or files
 THEGAMES.EXE TO THEGAMES


 Ex. C>rename thegames.exe thegames

 Next Load program into debug...

 Ex. C>debug thegames

 Then Follow the sample debug session:

     -s 0000 ffff 51 c6 06 c9     :   Search for the protection pattern

     XXXX:YYYY                    :   The search will return one address.
                                      If more than one is returned
                                      this unprotect may not work.

     -e YYYY eb 65                :   Edit the contents of the computed
                                      address

 Now write the new thegames game back to the disk:

     -w  <Enter>

     Writing XXXX bytes

 Then Quit Debug:

     -q  <Enter>

 Now it is time to rename thegames back to thegames.exe

     C>ren thegames thegames.exe

 Now try to run the new (Hopefully) unprotected version of The Games

     C>thegames
