More Power! QuakeC Modification. Author:Dr.NvF(jnklerk@dreamscape.com) (adopted & altered code for the grenade launcher borrowed from John Spickes, Josh Spickes, Allen Seger's weapons & client modification(filename: jsqcmod1.zip)) Requirements: Quake, full & registered. an unpacker(i.e.Winzip, pkunzip, etc) What it does: Adds some major kick to the Grenade Launcher, Super Nailgun, and Single and Double Barrel Shotguns. To use this modification: Download the file and unzip it into a directory off your main Quake directory. Name the directory something like "power". Then run Quake with -game followed by the directory. Example: quake -game power To use this modification in DeathMatch: Follow the same directions as single player(above). Start a new Deathmatch. Only the server needs to have the modified code. If you are running a server, the clients which connect to you do not need this file to play the modified game. Specific changes: Shotgun & Double Barrel Shotgun have exploding pellets, and do over twice as much damage as the regular versions. In DeathMatch, it makes for more interesting kills. There's nothing like firing at a fleeing target, having explosions open up on either side of him. (Note: in single player it makes for more frequent gibs, but keep in mind that the grunts will fire the exploding pellets too.) SuperNailGun: Death, Death, and more Death. Nails fired from this explode with a force near a Rocket. They also fire just as fast as the original SuperNailGun. You can turn an innocent room into a wall to wall explosion. Pity the people caught on the receiving end of this one. It'll stop any dink with a rocket launcher cold. Grenade Launcher: Fire a grenade into a room and wham. It blows up. Not too new, right? Well, it also kicks out 15 explosive pieces of shrapnel, which fly around the room, gibbing anyone caught in the firestorm. Fire 5 of these into a large room and it'll turn into a no-man's land before you can say "I'm winning." Use it in close quarters and you're history. Be forewarned. (Note: Makes single player more difficult on any level, as the Ogres will lob these in your general direction.) Bugs: None Known. Authors notes: This is my first stab at QuakeC modifications. I'm not a programmer, nor do I play one on TV. The sum of my programming experience is from programming on MOO's, so this was a new(and undocumented) venture. I think the result kicks butt, but would be happy to hear any suggestions/comments/compaints/bug reports on it. Also, while this has been tested, it hasn't been tested exhaustively.
