DBE VIEWER v1.0 Source Unknown 1995 09/01/95 This viewer uses Borland's BGI library. I know that it SUCKS when it comes to demo coding, but for little applications such as this one, its pretty efficient. If only it was faster... Well, for this version of the viewer, you NEED the mouse to run the program. If you don't have a mouse, you won't have a working viewer. The "print" icon simply prints the section of the screen that you are currently viewing (18 lines). In future versions, I may make it so that it prints specific articles instead of just doing a basic "print screen". It does NOT do a line feed before it starts printing, or after its done printing so make sure that your paper is properly aligned before using it! The "next" icon fastforwards you to the next article in line. This will only be effective if the next article is not visible on the current screen. What I mean by this, is that if you see a begining of a new article on the screen, and you press "next" it will pass by this article and bring you to the one after that. This feature is simply used to skip articles that you have already read, or that you find boring. Another feature that I added is status lights. These indicate the current state of the viewer. Here are the meanings for each color: Red : Sitiation Critical (Something is going wrong) Yellow : Loading (Dont touch anything) Green : Everything is Ok (Do whatcha want) Don't try running this application using Windows 95. For some reason, Win95 fucks up the real time coding, and things become faster or slower then they should be (the "Press Any Key" will be flashing at a unusual speed). The viewer will still work...it will just behave a bit abnormaly. So even though it is possible to run it from win95, I discourage you to do so. The least you can do is go into DOS emulation when running it (Press alt-enter from the VGA MS-Dos prompt in Win95) Oh, another thing. There is a secret door in this viewer. Try to find it using the mouse. Click everywhere on the screen until you find it...or if you are too lazy, reach me on my BBS, Superior Authority. Hehe...when you see it, you will think to yourself "Source Unknown has been coding while drunk once more, I see." GREETZ go out to: Grimm Apostle, Intoxicated Assassin, Iz, Macris, Mind Riot, NightWidow, Nimbus, Proze, Ptarmigan Knight, Sid Vicious, AND of course the whole fucking DBE crew!
