If you are not aware by now, TEKAT is closed FOR GOOD! That's right. It's down. I know many of you probably heard rumors about a phone number change and that is exactly why TEKAT went down. The rumors are correct. Originally, the phone number was changed in order to abandon all the scum and morons who pretty much managed to kill the system. The change of phone number was a last resort to try and save the system, but it did not work. In the system announcements on TEKAT, it clearly stated that absolutely NOBODY was to tell anyone of the phone number change. Not even a users closest friend was allowed to be told. Everyone was given clear instructions to say that TEKAT was down if people asked questions. The announcement said that if this rule was broken, the offender may be deleted or the whole system may go down. I thought I had deleted all the system abusers but obviously I did not because people spread the rumor about the number change. As a result, we have stuck true to our word and have shut down the system. To those who decided to call my brother on the voice line and harass him with threats at odd hours, this is the ultimate FUCK YOU! Now you no longer have a system to get your precious files and affils from. Also, the information has been removed from the system and passed on to others by me personally. Even if jUNGLE jIMMY decides to put up a BBS again, it will not have what you want. You do not have my number and I am not going to run a BBS. I am simply going to spread the information to those who possess the intelligence to use it properly and not abuse it. If you do find my voice number (go ahead and do it. I could use the laugh.), I will not play games with you. I am not playing around anymore. I have had the connections for years now to make your lives TRULY miserable. However, I never used them because I thought it would be rude and go against my morals. The only reason I ever ran a BBS was to keep controversial information available. Freedom of Information. Many of you have killed this ideal. As a result, the information I have is no longer free and if you do decide to play with me, I will have no problem using the connections and knowledge I have acquired, over the past five years, against you. þPart 2þ þWhat will Become of áGâ?þ Many people right now are probably thinking that áGâ has died. This is FAR from true. áGâ will function as it has before only it now has one less site, TEKAT. All other sites still have their status. If you were a site, the closing of TEKAT may actually be beneficial for you. As a result, we now have an FTP directory on the internet for you to acquire our new files from. To get the áGâ files, FTP to ftp.netcom.com and go to the directory pub/va/vandal. Vandal is a writer for DnA, a great magazine, who has basically become our savior for the time being and is in the process of setting up the directory. By the time you have read this, it will probably be up and running. Now you will no longer have to call long distance to get files and your courier accounts have basically become obsolete. If you are a writer, please do not send contributions to the incoming directory of Vandal's account. Vandal has been a great help and we do not need to clutter up his account with submissions. Instead, you can send them to me via E-mail to an132432@anon.penet.fi. This is the best way to do it anyways since your contributions will be sent directly to me and will, therefore, be released as quickly as possible. As for the new WHQ, we do not have one because I have not asked anyone to do it yet. This news was all broken to me yesterday. I will let people know about that in the next .NFO file for those that do not have Internet access and need the medium of a BBS to reach us. Overall, áGâ has not changed all that much. In fact, the only difference seems to be that we have now established ourselves on the Internet. Though you may not need an Internet account, I strongly suggest getting one since this is the direction things are moving in. þPart 3þ þWhere are the áGâ Sites?þ You may not have noticed yet, but I have not included the names or phone numbers of any of the áGâ sites. This is for their protection. Due to the fact that TEKAT just went down, a lot of lamers will be looking for other places to suck dry of files which could potentially damage the quality of the systems. The fact that an investigation is occurring in 908 is another reason why I have not included the numbers in this release. Once things have blown over, and the lamers have become content with having wars over their penis sizes on some other poor local sysop's BBS, I will include the numbers of the sites again. If you are a sysop of a áGâ site, don't think that this means you are no longer a site. Continue to advertise that you are a site if you please. I have decided not to include the numbers to preserve the quality of YOUR systems so the same thing that happened to me will not happen to you.
