"How to Remove a Wheel-clamp Without Causing Any Damage."

Disclaimer:

I make no guarantees that any method(s) given below, explicit or otherwise,
are entirely legal. Neither are they an enticement to park illegally or to
facilitate the theft of wheel-clamps. It *is* illegal to remove a wheel
clamp which has been attached to your car by either the police or an
authorised agent of the police. All actions are undertaken entirely at
your own risk.

Method :

Jack up your car, so that you have enough room to work on the clamped
wheel.

To access the wheel nuts you will have to deflate the tyre on the clamped
wheel, using the valve (don't lose the dust-cap!).

Manoeuvre the clamp about the wheel so that the first wheel nut is in view.
Remove the wheel nut using the wheel brace. Repeat the process with the rest
of the wheel nuts. If you have difficulty accessing the other nuts, you
may have to put your foot on the flange at the bottom of the clamp,
and push it gently with your foot, whilst rotating the deflated tyre,
until the next nut comes into view.

When you have removed all the wheel nuts, and put them in a safe place along
with the dust-cap, remove the wheel, along with the clamp which is still
attached to it.

Then spin the wheel around inside the frame of the clamp, pushing it away
from you, pushing down the top of the deflated tyre, until it is entirely
removed from the clamp.

Now, you can either put your spare tyre from the boot on the car, or
pump up the deflated tyre and put it back on the car. It would probably
be best to put on the spare tyre, as it facilitates a quicker exit from
the scene.

After replacing the (spare) wheel, lower the car, remove the jack. Don't
forget to pick up the bolts and dust-cap for the deflated tyre before
you go!

Now, you should either return the wheel-clamp to the clamping firm, or
leave it at the local police station as lost property, to avoid a charge
of theft. It is imperative that the clamp should not have been damaged
in *any* way, to do so may constitute criminal damage.
