Sheriff's primary channel is "YELLOW" Several cities contract for their law enforcement needs. If your community is not listed above, refer to the sheriff. As you may have noticed, several frequencies are shared. This may create problems for you to monitor a distant city. Orange County Fire Departments (trunk system) Since the trunk system scans a bank of frequencies, for a clear channel, you may hear the same fire department on different channels. Also to complicate matters, the computer data channels rotate daily at midnight. I am in the process of identifying the most active channels (out of the 20 allocated). SCANNERS AND THE LAW It is a federal crime to: Divulge what you hear to anyone who is not a party to the broadcast. Make use of the information for personal gain. Use any information for illegal acts or to commit any crime. If you decide to "chase" the calls in your vehicle, be prepared to receive some well deserved special attention from the Police. They do not need your added interference in their duties. I guess you realize that I agree 100% with the Law. Updated 24AUG92
