MULTI MEDIA DATA SERVICE (MMDS)

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Multi Media Data Service (MMDS) allows customers to transmit voice, LAN,
host-to-terminal, and video data point-to-point or point-to-multipoint in a
metropolitan area.  Transmissions are made over a fiber-optic cable at speeds
up to 100 Mbps. Data can be sent at less than half the cost of leased DS3
links.  MMDS is a dedicated point-to-point or point-to-multipoint service,
confined to those fiber connections going to customer-specified sites.
MMDS supports:

                -     Token ring LANs
                -     Ethernet LANs
                -     V.35 modems
                -     IBM 327X terminal format
                -     RS442/449 interfaces
                -     Non-framed T1
                -     Video NTSC 250B

APPLICATIONS:

           -    LAN-to-LAN links.
           -    Tie lines.
           -    Personal computer-to-mainframe data transfers.
