KITTEN KRISP N' SOUR KRAUT -------------------------- This dish was born in the trenches of france seventy odd years ago as both British and German troops were faced with yet another Bully Beef Christmas. Who will ever forget the festive fraternisation as Tommy Atkins and fritz,forgetting for a moment there little differences, rounded up trench kittens to produce that magical Anglo-Prussian military mega-classic,kitten krisp n' sour kraut, A dish delicious enough to bring a smile to a man with the severest case of trenchfoot. The dish became a year round favourite and was known in British trenches as cat and chips and in the french trenches as Petit Chat au Gruyere avec Fruits de Mer et Caviar Suspirus. Nothing could be simpler. INGREDIENTS ----------- To Serve 3 2 or 3 kittens, Prepared and dressed 4 large cabbages 4 Pints (2 Litres) of water 1 bottle of vinegar METHOD ------ Chop cabbage and place with kittens on large steel platter. Splash with water and scorch with MK.9 Flamethrower until a crisp and golden brown. Sprinkle with vinegar and serve in billy can or steel helmet.
