SUBJECT: GOALS FOR PEROT Folks: I'm astonished! Ross Perot spent most of his time on "Larry King Live" on CNN about a week ago explaining what it would take to get him to run, and what he thought needed to be done if he were to be given the chance. If you didn't see it, you should bug your local TV station, or contact CNN, to get a video of the discussion - it was most thought- provok- ing, and made a supporter out of me! Jim B in OKC SUBJECT: PEROT RUNNING? You're right. We need to knock Congress on its ear. I will vote for anyone that makes sense. I don't care what party they belong to. Actually, I'd prefer independents that won't sacrafice their own values and good judgment for the sake of pleasing the party, or, go along with the party line. There is too much energy spent on keeping or gaining power for a party. >> When I worked for Mr. Perot, he made it clear that he hated office politics. He used to say "If it makes sense, DO IT! If you see a snake, KILL IT!" We need people in Congress that are willing to kill snakes rather than those that are will sell out their values to the power of their party. Why don't you run? Regards, David SUBJECT: ABOUT ROSS PEROT Our excellent opportunity is at hand. We may have a chance to elect a man that everybody will love, to the Presidency. H. ROSS PEROT Mr. Perot will be on the Donahue show on Wednesday 25 March at 9AM For more information on this man call 1-800-685-7777 Dale from Southern California 03/15 02:33 pm Pacific SUBJECT: ABOUT ROSS PEROT dale, I am a EDS worker and I agree that "Uncle Ross" as we call him would be a great choice to ran this country.Write him in . Concerned citizen of Michigan EXCELLENT IDEA DAVE, I'M HAVING "PEROT FOR PRESIDENT" BANNERS MADE TODAY & SHALL TAKE THEM TO ANY CLINTON OR BUSH APPEARANCES IN MY AREA (PHILA) Clark: I wasn't aware that there was any movement afoot to draft Ross. The very thought of that little bantam rooster in the White House and taking on the old entrenched politicos is so pleasing that it makes me laugh outloud. I did hear that Ross favored Tsonga's economic plan over the others. I'm supporting Tsongas but if Ross gets in there, I'll smile and re-think the whole matter. Paul in Iowa SUBJECT: ABOUT ROSS PEROT George, Wish I could help more, but I know very little. He opposed the Gulf war, said our number one resourse "Our children " should not be wasted in a war over oil. Also said that he would use his own money for getting elected. I too would like to learn more about him! Mike in CA SUBJECT: ABOUT ROSS PEROT Anyone who saw Ross Perot on the 8 AM 3/22 C SPAN interview (it will be repeated there..) knows that HE is a serious candidate IF WE ARE serious. Only if WE the PEOPLE get him on the ballot in all 50 states within the allotted time frame in each state - only then will he run. He will run hard! Wants no money except for $5 from each person. His top priority is JOBS so that people can be self sufficient and proud of their work. He will name a VP almost immediatley - "someone more qualified" than he is, not "an empty suit". Must understand economy and debt, unlike present leaders. Perot is an Independent - owes nothing to anybody. He will spend whatever it takes to run a first class campaign - no phony stuff - no formal dinners at $1,000 a plate to grant favors and get favors. Our present status is that we have another 400 billion in debt this year, making our total debt now 4 Trillion. By 2000, the natl INTEREST on the debt could consume the entire $ of the USA. TAX REFORM is vital, he says. Should be simple and fair. Perot is critical of our System, not as much of the people caught up in the system. If we don't change thee System, things will get worse no matter who we elect. PErot pledges to bring the issues to the people OFTEN through electronic media and to listen to the responses of the PEOPLE. HE wants the words MADE IN USA to stand for EXCELLENCE around the world . He believes when people know more about the issues, theya nd people who have EXPERIENCE (not politicians) will come up with the best solutions. RE WAR: First you discuss with the nation and IF THE PEOPLE believe war is the best answer, then you declare war. Not like Iraq, where we used Hussein to do our work... then when he went too far, war happened. THINK AHEAD ON ALL ISSUES is what I get from him. Eventually, when crisis issues are dealt with, I believe life enhancement issues will follow. But he says we must begin IMMEDIATELY to resolve the problems which affect ALL of us. If no jobs, then no taxes, then no......First we turn this country around and resolve probs one by one with input from American people. Listen to C SPAN and judge for yourself.... KB in CA SUBJECT: H. ROSS PEROT H. Ross Perot is an unbelievable man. Anyone interested in reading about him should get the book, "On The Wings of Eagles" by Ken Follet. Follet is usually a fiction writer, but he wrote this non-fiction work about Ross and his efforts to get two of the men who worked for him in Iran out of jail there just prior to our "hostage" crisis. He is unbelievable. If there was EVER someone you could believe in, he is it. He has sense, he is honest, he is everything that government SHOULD be and ALL that it is not! I signed on tonight specifically to see if there was a board on this subject so that I could find out where and how I could work for him in Arizona. I will call the 800 number as soon as I sign off. I URGE EVERYONE WHO EVER BECAME DISENCHANTED WITH POLITICS TO FIND OUT ABOUT H. ROSS PEROT. There is hope for this country after all! Donna CALL THAT NUMBER AND READ THAT BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SUBJECT: H. ROSS PEROT Donna, What a breath of fresh air!!!!! Go Perot! Mike in CA SUBJECT: GIVE PEROT A CHANCE Sherrill, I'am 35 and have not voted in a presidential election yet. Given the choice of candidates my reasons were obvious. But I've long admired Mr. Perot, and after reading this closeup board I'am not alone. If he gets signed up in all 50 states this will be the first time in my life I'll get to vote. Spread the word and maybe we can make a difference, if not for us then our children. michael in N.J. SUBJECT: PEROT & BUSINESS Allen, You make some good points! I have just watched the replay of Perot's address to the Press Club, taped on the 18th. I had seen very little of him previously, but I must say, I liked what I heard! What is not to like? He certainly seems to understand the need for radical change. I believe that he has the country's problems in scope. He doesn't over simplify the problems, but he has very simple, well thought- out, common sense solutions, to get us off square one! I have been a Buchanan supporter, for the lack of a better option, but my first impression of Ross Perot, is, the he is far and away, the best option yet! I would like to hear more of him, more about changes he would make, more about a platform. If he is what he seemed to be, he would be great for the country! 03/22/92 08:41 pm William in Fla SUBJECT: PEROT & BUSINESS Isn't it time, that we cease to allow political parties to dictate who we must vote for? I agree with Perot, that the parties are the power that produces "politics as usual!" We need something different. He is a breath of fresh air! He even caught my wife's ear. That takes some doing! Unless there are chinks in his armour that have not come to light, I can support him whole-heartedly! WW in Fla SUBJECT: ROSS PEROT Yes! Yes! I believe! It didn't take him long to convert me! I am a registered Republican, but I am not happy with what either party has to offer.I have supported Pat Buchanan, but the party machine has pretty much squashed his candidacy. He is a good man, and I would still support him over any other candidate from either party, but Mr. Perot puts forward the most common sense measures that I have ever heard, from any politician, if you could classify him as a politician! He will qualify if he throws his hat into the ring, but in the past, he has not behaved like a politician. If he has had long-standing designs on political office, he has certainly kept the secret well! Bless him! He just might be this coun- try's political savior! 03/22/92 09:29 pm William in Fla SUBJECT: POSITIVELY PEROT How truly exciting it is to know that it appears more hopeful every day that Ross Perot will run for president as a 3rd party candidate. It is time that all of us--Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and those who reside outside of these groups--seek an alternative to the stultifying status quo mentality which pervades our government today. Spread the word, friends--Perot is the medicine which this ailing country needs! We have a golden opportunity to affect positive change. Jeff in PA SUBJECT: AN ANSWER = PEROT While Perot is a registered Democrate he will not affilate himself with eighter party if he runs for office. He has refused to run a PARTY agenda. I have seen a lot about Perot over the years and can confirm everything I have seen Mark write about him. * PEROT in '91 * -Darell Smith - Colorado Springs, CO SUBJECT: AN ANSWER = PEROT I don't know about Perot in '91 but FOR SURE in '92!! SUBJECT: H. ROSS PEROT Let's hope Prodigy gives some coverage to this man! It is gratifying to finally have some hope that we can get someone in the White House who can put this country back on track. Perot has some great ideas, and, with a mandate from the American people, could do some great things. <> SUBJECT: H. ROSS PEROT You're not alone by a long shot. I'm just as impressed as you are. Mr. Perot has promised that he will make a run for the White House if a grass roots effort gets his name on the ballots in all 50 states. I believe he is a man of his word.I'm going to the Sec'y of State in Ala. to find out how I can gt signatures to enter his name on our ballot. If you would do the same in your state and others would also, it would accomplish two things:1)It would help to gt Mr. Perot to run and, 2) It would get some peopl who have never really participated in the election process, other than voting and complaining, to get up off their hands and make a difference. Just the fact that his name shows up on ballots will scare the bejeezez out of the "fat cats" in Washington. He would be to most threatening kind of opponent. The kind who has th backing of the people. SUBJECT: H. ROSS PEROT I believe the political establishment, including the news media, should take Perot much more seriously than it does today. He is potentially a more serious threat to the two major party candidates than were the last two independent candidates, George Wallace in 1968 and John Anderson in 1980. Perot must clear two hurdles. First, he must get on all 50 ballots (Perot's condition for running at all). That is a daunting task, but both Wallace and Anderson were able to accomplish it when the rules were slightly more restrictive than they are today. Second, he must convince Americans they would not waste their votes on him--something neither Wallace nor Anderson could accomplish. But Wallace was never really more than a sectarian and regional candidate, while Anderson fell into the trap of sounding like a conventional candidate. Robert Novak PRODIGY Service Political Expert SUBJECT: ROSS PEROT One thing about Perot---He is a self made Billionaire, therefore he must be able to manage a budget and knows how to save money. Maybe he is the leadership America needs to clean out Washington and make America live again. Art in Oregon SUBJECT: ROSS PEROT Jack -- I'm not only interested in getting Perot on the ballot in S.C. -- I want him on the ballot in all States.. I'm in the process of trying to find out who to contact in Florida to offer my help here to that end. I suspect there are people like me in every State and suggest *P members in every State who know anything about a Perot movement in their State immediately post a bulletin > to ALL advising them who to contact to participate. If the mass of ordinary citizens, fed up with self serving party politics, don't get going NOW, we'll suffer 4 more years of decline and ultimate disaster, whichever one of the primary candidates is elected in Nov. If we don't get a "non-political" competent manager in the White House in '92, who is without any political party-special interest obligations, we will risk getting some charismatic political opportunist in '96 with an emotional appeal to disenchanted Americans -- who may be either another Huey Long or a Hitler Ross Perot is a known quantity I can heartily support/ JC SUBJECT: ROSS PEROT Bet he hasn't bounced many checks!
