WHEN THE FIRST OF THESE IS SUPPRESSED AND THE OTHER MANIFESTED, THE CHITTA ACQUIRES THE MODIFICATION CALLED SAMADHI THE MODIFICATION CALLED ONE POINTEDNESS OF THE CHITTA IS ACQUIRED WHEN THE IMPRESSION THAT IS PAST AND THAT WHICH IS PRESENT ARE SIMILAR IN THIS WAY (BY THE THREE MODIFICATIONS) IS EXPLAINED THE THREEFOLD TRANSFORMATION AS TO FORM, TIME, AND STATE IN MATTER AND IN THE ORGANS THAT WHICH IS ACTED UPON BY TRANSFORMATIONS, EITHER PAST, PRESENT, OR YET TO BE MANIFESTED, IS THE SUBSTANCE QUALIFIED THE SUCCESSION OF CHANGES IS THE CAUSE OF MANIFOLD EVOLUTION THROUGH THE PRACTICE OF SAMYAMA ON THE THREE SORTS OF CHANGES COMES THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE PAST AND FUTURE THROUGH SAMYANA ON WORD, MEANING, AND KNOWLEDGE, WHICH ARE ORDINARILY CONFUSED, COMES THE KNOWLEDGE OF ALL ANIMAL SOUNDS THROUGH THE PERCEIVING OF THE IMPRESSIONS COMES THE KNOWLEDGE OF PAST LIFE THROUGH THE PRACTICE OF SAMYAMA ON THE SIGNS ON ANOTHERS BODY COMES KNOWLEDGE OF HIS MIND BUT NOT ITS CONTENTS, THAT NOT BEING THE OBJECT OF SAMYAMA THROUGH THE PRACTICE OF SAMYAMA ON THE FORM OF THE BODY, THE POWER OF PERCEIVING FORMS BEING OBSTRUCTED AND THE POWER OF MANIFESTATION IN THE EYE BEING SEPARATED FROM THE FORM, THE PRACTITIONER' BODY BECOMES UNSEEN OR INVISIBLE IN THIS MANNER THE DISAPPEARANCE OR CONCEALMENT OF WORDS WHICH ARE BEING SPOKEN, AND OTHER SUCH THINGS, ARE ALSO EXPLAINED KARMA IS OF TWO KINDS: SOME TO BE FRUCTIFIED SOON AND SOME TO BE FRUCTIFIED LATER.
