DIRNKING AND DRIVING IS A ROAD TO NOWHERE™ Many People die each year in Car crashes where alcohol was involved, up to 16, 589 people. About 3000 people under the age of 21 are killed each year. All of these crashes did not have to happen and could have been prevented. When people become drunk their nervous system becomes depressed. Their mental confusion makes it very hard to make judgments that they would normally make, like swerving away from a kid in the street, or staying in the right lane. Alcohol also makes people feel tired and sleepy. When driving people can fall a sleep at the wheel that can and will result in a crash. There are a lot of options that people can chose from when they need to drive. One, they can drink and not drive, two, they can get someone else to drive for them, and three, they do not have to drink at all. People have to learn that drinking and driving equals death. We are not stupid and we know that we can control our actions. But when people become drunk, the bottom line is, they do not know what they are doing, and can lead to death while trying to drive. We should take all the responsibility for our actions, that includes knowing when to stop drinking. If people would stop and think about what can happen by getting drunk, they would realize that a couple of drinks can be the cause of a deadly accident killing them selves, and others.
