Emeralds are a variety of minerals called beryal, made in mica, quartz and granite. Sometimes they look as small pieces of alluvil, or riverbed, deposits. Rubies and Sapphires are varieties of mineral corundum. Which is made with aluminum oxide. They aare the second hardess stones, after diamonds, and will scratch all stones other then itself ( the diamond). Rubbies and Sapphires , like diamonds, can be made artifically, though these are not as valuble as the natraul stones. Rubbies and Sapphires have both been used as the working of watches, as well as being used as jewlery.
