FEATURE OPERATION:

When the user has logged on, he/she will be routed to the Menu Service by a
network virtual circuit built between the user's access port and the Menu
Service. At this point, the Menu Service outputs the predefined menu followed
by a prompt line. The user enters the number for the desired destination
followed by a carriage return. The Menu Service establishes the virtual
circuit to the predetermined location.

TECHNOLOGICAL AND FEATURE INTERACTION CONSIDERATIONS:

1. Network access is through the telephone company's asynchronous termination.

2. The Menu Service is compatible with a large variety of ASCII terminals.

3. Menu Service contains inactivity time-out feature. If no user data is
input during the time-out and a destination circuit is not establisned,
the user is logged out of Menu Service.

4. Whenever the virtual circuit is cleared between the user and the Menu
Service, the virtual circuit between the Menu Service and the predetermined
destination, if any, is also cleared.
