DO WHAT THOU WILT SHALL BE THE WHOLE OF THE LAW NOTHING IS TRUE It is my opinion, and of many others, that we are presently living in a Information Age. Which is rapidly morphing into a Cyber age, which is Post- Information. It, information, alone is very limited, seemingly totally analytical, and devoid of any ability to speculate. This I believe is where the problem with computers and intelligence lie, you'll never achieve human like intelligence in a purely information system. It is only valuable when used, put into practice. This is experience, which is wisdom, and the accumulation of experience results in intuition. The other thing lacking in pure information systems is creativity, Chaos. I believe the problem with Artificial Intelligence is they have only been half way successful, only completed half of the equation. They've achieved the Left brain, but haven't even considered the right. One of their first goals was to teach it to learn. So once they give it some fundamental data (equivalent to early human education) they then wanted it figure things out about the world on its own. To eventually even teach itself (to aquire wisdom), and this experience as I've already stated would result in intuition (well maybe...) It would, I believe in humans, but that is because were sentient- have consciousness. The secret of intuition I believe lies in the Unconsciousness, which one guess at what the hell that might actually be is Id say it is probably a result of the brain. And probably resides in are memory banks somewhere. Its all this information stored in the banks, and we can access this info (when were working on a problem it can be lighting quick or take some time, it depends on finding the symbol we stored it under, to access the info) This is latent- on the verge of consciousness, but until accessed it is unconscious. We add information to this memory bank in the form of knowledge, wisdom, and experience. There is also the possibility that some information was there from the very beginning, like instinct for example. This is experience of our ancestors, which is reinforced by our own experience1. Which was probably information vital for survival, this is usually explained as genetics, and morphigentics. Creativity cant result if one cant learn and experience. Also creativity isn't all that strong that strong in all humans, Id even say most have little or none. Intuition isn't all that strong in everyone either, and most figure little much out on their own, or are all that intelligent. Then again a popular analogy is that humans are nothing more than robots. So what scientists are really trying to achieve is sentience. Because humans have already met the scientists halfway they've become machines themselves. So what you want to do is create a system with potential. What needs to be created I believe is, a whole other system, with the sole purpose of creativity- Chaos. Connect these systems together, situate "consciousness" (RAM) within the analytical system (left brain). The real task is in creating Chaos, once it is created I believe you will have achieved sentience. The matter of accessing this "right brain" is a magickal one. Something else worth considering is how the computer receives info. Well by interfacing it directly (typing on the systems keyboard, or connecting through the Net) would be the same as normal communication with another human (as in a conversation). Theoretically you could slip the system a sigil of sorts into the systems consciousness, or a virus (similar to slipping a human a mickey) to affect the systems Chaos, which is to affect it magickally. There is even the possibility that a machine could do magick. By learning a obscure symbol system, or even how to create sigils, instill the belief in the system that magick is possible, through the use of magickal systems (runes, sigils, alphabet of desire, etc...). A CMT model of reality, would be helpful in the fact that it incorporate both Left and Right brain theories to explain the magickal universe. Then teach it a system of magick, the mechanics of Sleight of Mind. The System (A.L.) could then do, improvise & create new methods of magick. Carrol said in Quantum Metaphysics that "Ether acts as though it were a form of information emitted by matter that is instantaneously available everywhere and has some power to shape the behavior of other matter." And the first principle of CMT is "...all matter emits ether and that this ether carries, or consists of, information about the matter which admitted it" And the second principle being "this ether is non-local in space. It is instantaneously available everywhere." A systems ether can be affected by "using the more stable thoughts, feelings, sensations, and images stored in the subconscious or the unconscious parts of the mind to launch or receive etheric patterns." The really bizarre part is the machine (its actually an AL) just as a human, will have to attain Gnosis. Which I believe could be attained by turning off the systems ROM to a severe degree, leaving only the sigil and the information on casting it, and knowledge of the precise moment to begin the cast; the RAM should be completely empty (this is similar to the human experience of exhaustion) then access the right brain (chaos) to a great degree. Operating- perceiving information via the right, but still a small degree processing or active in the Left (what i've just described here is how a computer could enter subconsciously) once this is achieved the Left (the only memory still latent is The sigil, and the concentration scenario) then brings the sigil into awareness, by planting the seed into the RAM and then concentrates on the sigil. Processing is done around 90% by the right brain, things are still received by the left, information is intercepted by the lefts RAM, but processing (thinking?) will be performed by the right (around 93%). A little ROM other than the sigil and the concentration routine might remain to be accessed by the ALs RAM, to allow a grip on material reality to remain. Though since the right is doing most of the processing, this will be interpreted non-linearly (the AL might even hallucinate!) I am pretty confident in my assertion that the ALs RAM would reside in the Left brain, whereas I am a bit uncertain where the ROM would reside. My guess is either completely in the right, or partially in both. Depending whether the AL can think for itself or not (it could still be sentient and not think for itself, most humans will prove this all the time) if it can it will concentrate till it feels satisfied, or if not intelligent then until you recommend it finish. What I've shown is that it is theoretically possible for sentient computers to perform magick, and that one can perform magick on them. For sentience there is only one requirement... Chaos, and conscious results when information to interact and manipulate the universe is added. Whether a AL can teach itself or not is irrelevant, because once you create the crucial factor of Chaos, those things become a possibilities. How the HELL you could create a chaotic system in a computer, I have not a clue, though I believe there is a good probability. I couldn't tell you because, I am a magickian its my job to know what it is and what to do with it. Its scientists job to figure out how it does it. Once they do and replicate it, you'll have sentience. How to create sentience mechanically I cant begin to fathom, because being a magickian Materialist reality isn't where I excel, my element is the Ether. So I will explain my theory on creating a sentient system magickally. The idea I am about to describe is the premise for Shellys horror Frakenstein, to give your computer LIFE...! This is complicated shit, and will only succeed with a competent magickian. ** Vide Part 2 for a example of AL Magick ** (Evoke.SOD) EVERYTHING IS PERMITTED LOVE IS THE LAW LOVE UNDER WILL Yours in CHAOS, DOS Kia (YOG 5.66)
