Notes on NuPOP 1.1
Homewood Academic Computing

1. A note on the files contained in the ZIP archive:
   -------------------------------------------------
        HAC_READ.ME This file.
AAREADME.1ST A readme file from the authors at Northwestern Univ.
NUPOP.* The NuPOP program files. When run, NuPOP will create
                                additional files and directories.
WINPKT.* "Virtual" packet driver for use with Windows.
*.WP The NuPOP user/installation manuals--latest versions
                                available. In WordPerfect 5.1 format.

2. To begin installation and use:
   ------------------------------
You must have a PC with an Ethernet board and a Crnwyr (Clarkson)
packet driver. If you are using Clarkson or NCSA Telnet now,
you can most likely run NuPOP. You should un-zip the archive into
a new directory on your hard disk (\NUPOP recommended). Start
the program by changing to the NuPOP directory, and type NUPOP.
When you start the program for the first time, several screens will
appear prompting you for configuration information: User Configuration,
General Preferences, Message Preferences, and Network Settings.
Examine the file-based manuals or online help for instructions, or
call HAC Microcomputer Support. If you make a mistake in configuring,
it can be changed later from the "Options" menu.
