----- HOW TO APPLY FOR CYBERCRIME: ----- ***** If you do not run a BBS: 1) At present, there is only one option - Private Point Node, a self- contained BBS software package which receives CCi Mail Packets via internet e-mail, allowing you to take part in your network via your local hard drive. Unzip and read the files contained in CCI-PPN.ZIP for more information. ***** If you run a Fido-standard (FTS) Front-End Mailer: 1) Read the requirements for joining in CCI-INFO.TXT, and verify that you are able to comply with all of these requirements. 2) Thoroughly familiarize yourself with the CyberCrime Rules and Regulations file, CCI-RULE.TXT. Be certain you agree to follow these rules BEFORE you complete the CCi application. 3) Fill out the application, CCI-APP.TXT, in it's entirety. 4) Rename the application to an appropriate name, as outlined at the beginning of the application file. 5) Submit your application, utilizing whichever option you prefer (options are laid out in detail at the beginning of the CCI-APP.TXT file). 6) Once accepted, you will be notified via the method you chose in your application. Note: If you are unable to be contacted within three weeks, your system WILL be removed from the network. 7) Begin setting up CyberCrime. Read CCI-SET.TXT for the complete CCi setup procedure. All systems have three weeks to be fully setup within the network before they are removed from the nodelist. ***** If you wish to receive your mail packets via E-mail: 1) It is HIGHLY recommended, unless your system is located outside of North America, that you make at LEAST your first two polls manually (via the phone lines), as this will enable you and your hub to iron out any difficulties as quickly as possible. NOTE: If you ARE planning on polling via e-mail, it is irrelevant who or what your local hub is - set all export addresses to 66:100/0. NOTE: If you are running your BBS (or mailer) under Windows 95/NT, there ARE utilities available which automate the entire process. A fully-setup shareware version of the popular Fido2Internet package is available; simply e-mail a request to midsorrow@ice.org 2) Follow all the procedures as outlined above. Once complete, read CCI-SET.TXT for setup procedures. Once you have completed setup, locate the test message packet that is destined for 66:100/0 (the prefix \ is almost always the same for 66:100/0, while the extension changes each ] time you create a new outbound packet), then e-mail it as an attached file to cci-mail@geocities.com This address is to be used ONLY for CyberCrime-related network mail, and not personal communications. ***** If you have a problem, and need assistance, contact Midnight Sorrow, (Mitchel Waas), via any of the following contact methods.
