IDE DRIVE COMPATIBILITY LIST
4/8/93

The following IDE drives have been tested with the DTC2270 and the DTC2290
controller cards. The Transfer Rates listed here are the manufacturers
listed transfer rates from buffer to host. Generally, drives which have
a high data transfer rate, utilize a write-back cache and support
multi-sector transfers yield the best performance.
NOTE: the DOS driver DTC2290.SYS or DTC2270.SYS needs to be loaded in
CONFIG.SYS in order to obtain the best performance with these drives.

IDE DRIVES WHICH DO NOT
SUPPORT MULTISECTOR TRANSFERS

The following drives do not support multi-sector transfers correctly. The
DTC2290.SYS and DTC2270.SYS drivers should not be loaded for these drives.

BRAND TECHNOLOGY BT 9220
: hangs when a cache on/off command is sent to the drive.

CONNER CP-30174
: CMOS should be set to user defined type for this drive with the following
parameters:

	903 CYLINDER, 8 HEAD, 46 SECTORs

FUJITSU M2614, 2614
: does not support multi-sector transfer.

FUJITSU M2622, 2623, and 2624
: Some older models of these drives do not support multi-sector transfer.
Contact FUJITSU to see if the FIRMWARE on these drives supports multi-sector
transfer mode.

KALOK IDE DRIVES
: do not support multi-sector transfer.

MAXTOR LXT-7120A
: has FIRMWARE bug that the multi-sector transer is slower than the single
sector transfer. The drive will run OK with DTC2290 under both single and
multi-sector mode. Under DTC2270VL, the drive must be load in single sector
transfer mode. The CONFIG.SYS should contain the following statement -
DEVICE=DTC2270.SYS /D0:M0
Maxtor has indicated they will NOT fix this bug.

QUANTUM ELS Series
:do not support multi-sector transfer and have small buffer size

SAMSUNG IDE DRIVES
: do not support multi-sector transfer

SEAGATE ST-1090A, ST-1126A, ST-1162A, ST- 1186A, ST- 1201A, ST-1239A
: These SEAGATE drives support multi-sector transfer but will fail on
transferring data due to bug in the drive FIRMWARE. The user should n
ot load the DTC driver.

WD 93048-AD
: does not support multi-sector transfer.
