 AB    The incidence of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome is growing within
       all levels of Alaskan society. All physicians will be touched in some
       manner by this epidemic and there is a growing need for a thorough
       understanding of all aspects of the human immunodeficiency virus and
       acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. Visual complications associated with
       this disease are devastating, common, and in many cases treatable. The
       following discussion is an overview, in outline form, of the ocular
       complications associated with the human immunodeficiency virus and
       acquired immunodeficiency syndrome.
