CW Field Day Results

Last years CW Field Day featured a head to head contest between
the Dalkey Island Contest Group EI5DI/P and the East Cork Group
EI7M/P in the restricted section of CW Field Day.

In this section, stations are limited to one single element
antenna with a maximum height of 11 metres and both stations used
260 foot centre fed dipoles.

After a very enjoyable 24 hours operating, the East Cork Group
emerged victorious with a margin of 52 QSOs separating the sides
at the end.

The actual scores were EI7M/P - 837 QSOs for 3,451 points and
EI5DI/P - 785 QSOs for 2765 points.

This year, CW Field Day will be held on Saturday and Sunday June
1st and 2nd and as always we are hopeful of a few new entries.

Full details available from the Contest Manager Paul O Kane EI5DI.

Donegal (Tir Conaill) Radio Club

The Donegal (Tir Conaill) Amateur Radio Society were treated to a
very interesting demonstration on the Internet by their Chairman
Jim GI8TST at their recent monthly meeting. While this
demonstration was not live, Jim managed to convey most aspects of
the Internet and hopes to go on-line for their meeting on March
27th.

Plans are almost finalised for the clubs annual expedition to
Arranmore Island which will take place from May 31st to June 3rd.

This will be of great interest to WAI squares hunters and activity
will be on all HF and VHF bands and the Worked All Ireland square
is B61.
