*** Continued from Part 2 The "Where Can I Find It?" FAQ ***

SECTION E: Stories, Games, Pictures, and Other Fun Stuff
---------------------------------------------------------

Pretty self-explanatory, don't you think? Read on!

*** Marvel Comics

Well, they're on the net now. Send them your thoughts!
       marvelmail@aol.com

*** Comicons!

Have you ever been to a Comic Book Convention? NO?!?!? What the heck
are you waiting for? Get your butt in gear and get transportation to
one of the two biggest Comicons of the year. Or both, if you've got the
stamina, wheels, and cash. The Chicago Comicon and the San Diego
Comicon (SDCC) are the main events of the year, and each has a web page
to give you all the necessary info, MONTHS in advance. You can find
those back issues, meet creators, and share pizza with your fave
rac'ers. So get going.

Chicago Comicon Home Page
       http://www.xnet.com/~nford/comicon.html

Sandiego Comicon Home Page
       http://www.digimark.net/wraith/SDCC/

Mid-Ohio-Con Home Page
       http://www.wfcomics.com/midohiocon/

*** Kid Dynamo

Have you ever wished that Magneto was still good, that X-Force was the
New Mutants, that Dani was still a Valkyrie, and that the *real* Doug
and Illyana were still alive? Go no further. The ultimate piece of
fan-fiction, Connie Hirsch's Kid Dynamo will blow you away. It's long,
but it is GOOD.

*** Untold-L

This mailing list corresponds with alt.comics.fan-fiction as a place to
mail, exchange, read, and discuss "Untold Legends" -- which you are
reading (or writing) for the first time. Sorta.

To subscribe, send e-mail with subscribe untold-l in the message
body to (listserv@netcom.com).

*** The alt.comics.fan-fiction Archives

With the permission of the authors, Hawk stored a bunch of your favorite
X-related stories on this site. It is no longer being updated, but is
still a HUGE listing of stories.

The alt.comics.fan-fiction Archive is located at
       ftp://joeshaw.bevc.blacksburg.va.us/pub/fan-fiction/

*** The C-FAN Page

C-FAN stands for Comics Fan-Fiction Authors Network. Kielle is
maintaining this exhaustive, well-organized page of X-Men fanfic. It is
organized by author and then by story. Very nicely done.

The C-FAN Page is located at
       http://members.aol.com/kielle/x-cfan.htm

*** X-Writers and X-Discuss

X-writers and X-Discuss are the mailing lists to join if you want to see
a whole new set of X-Men comics. Splitting off from regular Marvel
continuity with the November 1995 comics, the group known as the X-
writers continue the stories of your favourite mutants in their own
special way, including limited series.

These new stories are posted to x-writers@minuteman.com. Additionally,
a separate list, known as x-discuss@minuteman.com, is the mailing list
for discussing the monthly issues posted on x-writers. Sort of your own
personal rac.mx with all the creators reading.

To subscribe to these groups, send e-mail with subscribe x-writers
(and subscribe x-discuss in the following line if you want both) in
the message body to (majordomo@minuteman.com).

*** Excalibur: The Web Page

Longshot and a few friends are taking Excalibur where it has never gone
before, including the cross-time caper! Check out this decidedly
different fanfic collection.

Excalibur: The Web Page can be found at:
       http://pages.prodigy.com/longshot/excalibur.htm

*** The Comix-Biz Mailing List

The comix-biz mailing list was set up to provide a place to discuss
the business end of the comics industry, specifically retailing,
distribution, censorship, etc. (No discussion of the creative end.)
It's been very low-traffic to date but few people know about it.

To subscribe, send e-mail with subscribe comix-biz in the message
body to (majordomo@xmission.com).

*** Overpower

This is the new collectible trading card game, which has been created
for both Marvel and DC characters. Additionally, the sets are
compatible, so you can hold your own personal Marvel vs. DC crossover!
Of course, supply meets demand, so here are all the sources of
information for collecting and playing the game.

You should also note that the best newsgroup to discuss this topic is
rec.games.trading-cards.misc.

*** Marvel RPG Mailing List

This mailing list is to help people who want to Play-By-E-Mail find
people to PBEM with. Obviously, it is slanted towards the Marvel RPGs.

To get more information, send e-mail with info marvel-rpg in the
message body to (majordomo@stargame.org).

*** X-Men MUSHes and Telnets

you can! With the creation of the X-Men Fantasy League, you can pit
your team of characters against that of someone else! Points are scored

*** X-Men Picture and Sound Sites

These are only a few of the MANY sites out there. Enjoy!

longer accept graphics, please contact the FAQ Keeper.

*** The Fox Kids Network Page

This page has a list of what cartoons (X:TAS!!!) are running each day of
the week, along with a short description of the cartoon itself and what
else fans can expect from the rest of the season. Definitely worth a
look.

*** The BAMF! Doll

After years of toil and relentless searching, we finally have the
patterns to the Nightcrawler BAMF! doll. Yay!!! It is available by
ftp.

The patterns, instructions, and other stuff are located at:
ftp.hiof.no in the /pub/Comics/X-Men/Bamf_package directory

*** Internet Relay Chat

The IRC #comics FAQ is kept by Russ Allbery. It is located at
       http://www.santarosa.edu/~sthoemke/comics.html

It can also be obtained by sending e-mail to (eagle@eyrie.stanford.edu)

#comics is the main channel, but it tends to wander. :) If you cannot
get into #comics, check out #comix, the backup channel. Additionally,
KugGirl has invited any lost souls to hang out with her at #xf as well.
Just so you know, many of the rac.mx regulars use irc.dal.net as their
primary IRC server. If nobody is on your IRC server, telnet to DalNet
and see if we're over there! If you're looking for general information
on IRC, the best place to start looking is, in my opinion:
       ftp://ftp.dal.net/pub/dalnet/help/

In addition to the above, a new channel has been set up on the undernet.
There is an x-bot on the IRC Undernet for #x-men. You can find this
channel on the Undernet IRC server by telnetting to
davis.ca.us.undernet.org 6667 or by setting your web browser to:
       telnet://davis.ca.us.undernet.org:6667/

SECTION F: Other Comics Newsgroups
-----------------------------------

This is just the most complete list of places to look for other comics-
related stuff, be it strips, comics-based movies and TV shows, or binary
pictures. I am a little shaky on the .alt groups, so if there is
anything not quite right, let me know.

As always, before posting to a group, you should read its FAQ.
Just about all the Usenet Comics-based FAQs can be found at the ftp site
rtfm.mit.edu. See Section A for more details.
