Subject: 5. Current Merchandise

+-----------------------------------+
JMS has asked fans who find un-
licensed merchandise (generally
at cons) to notify him via mail
or e-mail (see FAQ part A).
+-----------------------------------+

Babylon 5 products are now gradually arriving. Licensing Company of America,
a subsidiary of Warner Bros. is handling the licensing of Babylon 5 products.

## Updates? Please e-mail <b5-submit@hyperion.com>

There's a new web page devoted to B5 merchandise -- a trading post, not a
seller of merchandise. WWW: http://www.epsilon3.com/b5cards.html

Monogram/Revell has licensed B5 model kits to produce. No further details are
known.

There are two books on B5 available in the UK and via the web at Internet Book
Shop, http://www.bookshop.co.uk/

TITLE: Babylon 5: Behind the Scenes
AUTHOR: Gross, Edward (Actually the David Bassom book)
    ISBN: 0752208411 (paperback)
    PRICE: #13.99 (British Pounds)

    TITLE: A-Z of Babylon 5
    AUTHOR: Bassom, David
    ISBN: 0752202529 (paperback)
    PRICE: #7.99 (British Pounds)

The latter of these will be re-published in the U.S. by Dell in March 1997,
and titled "Babylon 5 A to Z."

Narn and Minbari masks are available. WWW: http://afc.buyit.com/lightspeed/
or http://www.halcyon.com/uncomyn/b5/costumes/b5-mask.html

A new role-playing game (RPG) is coming out from Chameleon Eclectic, called
"The Babylon Project," and will be previewed at Gencon 96 in August, and
available in October.
WWW: http://skynet.bevc.blacksburg.va.us/cee/babylon_project.html

Creation Entertainment has T-shirts and photos, mugs, jackets, and hats --
(818) 409-0960.

A soundtrack by Christopher Franke, about 55-56 minutes in length, is now
available via mail order (see below) and in record stores. Call around to
check record stores -- they are usually pretty clueless about it.

To order the soundtrack directly, send checks or money orders for US$13.99
(California: plus 8.25% tax) plus $3.00 shipping to USA/Canada/Mexico ($6.00
elsewhere), to Sonic Images, P.O. Box 691626 West Hollywood, CA 90069.

A second soundtrack is expected, called "Babylon 5: Messages from Earth," and
will likely be an enhanced CD with video. Latest word is that it's expected
around November 1996.

Babylon 5 Galoob Micro-Machines are now out in most areas in USA and the UK,
and should be available at toy stores like Toys R Us, as well as stores like
Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and Target. There are *six* sets of three ships, each set
costing about five to six dollars (about 5 pounds in the UK.) You may need to
ask for them, as they often aren't put on display. (You can order them direct
from Galoob at 1-800-4-GALOOB, for a limited time.)

There is a B5 screensaver CD ROM (Windows only, it appears)
VERY nice images and movies. Available at computer stores or directly
from Sound Sources at (800) 877-4778 [or (805) 494-9996]. Cost is $29.95
plus $6 S/H. (I don't know about international shipping
or multiple unit costs.) WWW: http://www.cris.com/~ssi/
It is not available on Macintosh, but a web page
<http://www.winternet.com/~fin/bab5cd.html> describes how Mac users can
benefit from most of the content anyhow.

T-shirts and caps made by All-U, apparently of very high quality, are a big
hit with the B5 cast and crew. Contact All-U, 1-800-424-2558, ext. 105.

Various B5 merchandise -- micro machines, CDs, shirts, etc. can be ordered
from Uncomyn Gifts. E-mail uncomyn@halcyon.com.
WWW: http://www.halcyon.com/uncomyn/b5.html

Babylon 5 Trading cards (from Fleer) are available; they show cast members,
effects, and episodes up to about two-thirds of the second season. 118 cards,
2 checklist cards, 24 limited edition insert cards. A second set will be out
in October 1996; you may want to pre-order a box to make sure your local
store orders enough. There will be about 80 new cards, picking off in the
episodes with "Divided Loyalties", probably up through "War Without End II."
Images of CGI should be greatly improved from the first set.

A fan-produced <*> pin, depicting the "jumpgate" symbol used to denote B5 fans
all over the Internet, is available for ordering. There is an "original" (apx.
one inch) version, and a smaller lapel pin sized design. Very nice.
WWW: http://www.teleport.com/~elana/pin/pin.html for pictures & information.

JMS's revision to his scriptwriting book will be released later in 1996. It
will contain an entire B5 script, probably "The Coming of Shadows." It will
be called _The (Even More!) Complete Book of ScriptWriting_.
