---description--------------------------------------------------------

The program XINFO (REG-ID is 12873) is a system information tool which
displays various information concerning hardware and system software of
a PC. It demonstrates the use of two Turbo-Pascal units that I often use
within my programs. Registered users of XINFO will get these units from me
for their own use.

XINFO detects and reports:
system : cpu, fpu, cpu-speed*,display type, bus type, bios-date,
total amount of memory, dos memory, mouse type, boot drive
                   win 3.x/95 installed, os/2 installed
logical drives : drive letter, -type, -size, used/free disk space,
cluster size, total num of clusters
                   ( also in Novell networks...)
physical drives: drive number, cmos-id, heads/cls/secs via bios and
                   (ATA-)controller, partition data(bootable, type, size,
                   start, end)
netware : login date/time, user-id, server name, netware version,
                   netware max user#, current user#, peak conn#,
                   machine-address, netware shell version,
                   workstation os version)
video/io : vesa-bios oem, vesa-bios ver, vesa memory, keyboard type
                   serial/parallel/game ports #/adress/irq incl. UART/EPP-
                   detection*
database : this function stores detected values to an ASCII-format
table (only 11 in shareware version)
miscellaneous : mca or pci bus details (if detected): slot#,Adapter-ID
                   card/vendor-ID...)
dos-shell : XINFO has its own tiny dos-shell...

features marked with an * are not active in shareware/demo-version.
 XINFO was tested with DOS 5.x+, Win 3.x, Win95, Novell-Netware 3.x

XINFO has a "little brother", which has no display on screen and will only
write detected information into an ascii-table, which is located at the
same drive/path as the exe-file. You may use this for running inside
 AUTOEXEC.BAT or login-scripts of netware.
