DESCRIPTION

Ever had a user ask how to pick which conferences they want in their offline mail
packets? It's not too difficult a process...but there are a lot of steps required.
It even takes several steps to get to the place where you can pick the conferences!
Here's the shortest and quickest method I've found so far...

1. If you're running the Navigator, launch the Terminal client (this sometimes
takes considerable explanation by itself).

2. Select Y for "Your Settings"

3. Select O for "Offline Mail Settings"

4. Now go to S for "Select Conference to Scan"....

Well, how much easier would this whole process be if you could replace the first
three steps with "Click on this link"? Now you can. Here's how.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Extract the file "Offline Mail Settings.wcx" into your WC5 directory.

2. Run wcMenu. Go to the "Offline Mail Menu," and edit the setting for Y - Your
Settings. It should look as follows:

   Selection Key: Y
   Description: [Y] Your Settings
   Command Type: Run wcCODE Program
   Program: Offline Mail Settings
   Paramters:

3. Edit the access profiles, so all users who are supposed to have access to
offline mail can select this option.

4. Add the following HTML link to your pages, wherever appropriate:

<A HREF="/client?term&Offline+Mail+Settings.wcn">Edit your settings</A>

That's it...you're done! Now, when someone clicks on the "Edit your settings" link
above, they'll go straight to the Offline Mail Settings menu. We put the "Edit your
settings" link just below the "Download QWK packet" and "Upload REP packet" links
on our pages, and it works great.

DISCLAIMER

As with all third-party programs, use this at your own risk. It is not guaranteed
in any way...it may work or may not, it could decide to wipe out your entire
system, or it could call lightning bolts down from the sky or tidal waves from the
ocean to destroy your system and make a mess of your home. In short, if something
goes tragically wrong, don't blame me...or at least, don't sue for damages.

The .wcx, as you may have guessed, is incredibly simple...basically, all this does
is call another .wcx supplied by Mustang, passing it the proper parameter. Future
updates in WC5 may make this .wcx inoperable or unneccessary.
