If you use this method to setup Virtual Ports on your system, you will not be
able to access your comm ports through DOS While in Windows95 with the
TurboVRD and TurboVCD drivers loaded. If you need to uninstall the Virtual
Ports, you will want to remove the entries in your Registry for these drivers.

To set up virtual ports on a new install of Wildcat 5:

1. Install Wildcat 5

2. Load WcServer

3. Run WcConfig

4. Double click on the Doors Icon.

        a. For first time install of Virtual Ports
		1.  Click on OK to install Virtual Ports
		2.  Click on OK again

        c.  This will bring up the Doors window.

        d.  You will have several options to choose from:
		1. Add
		2. Edit
		3. Delete
		4. Clone
		5. Door Menu
		6. Virtual Ports

        e. Click on virtual ports

5. The Door Setup window will then appear.

        a. double click on COM1
		1. This will bring the Door Edit window up.

        b.select a Base address to use for this virtual port
		1. A good suggestion is to use the actual settings for COM1
			a. Base address of 03F8
			b. IRQ Setting of 4

        c. Then select a Node to attach this Virtual Port to
		1. Node 1 is a good pick

        d. Click on the OK button

        e. Click on the close button on the Door Setup window

        f. Click on the Close button on the Doors Window

        g. Windows will now inform you that you will need to reboot for these settings to take effect.

        h. Close WcConfig

        i. Close WcServer

6. You will now need to edit you Registry to allow sharing of the COM1 address

        a. Click on the START button on the taskbar

        b. Click on RUN

        c. When the entry window appears, enter REGEDIT and click on OK
		1. This will bring up the Registry for Windows 95

        d. Press and hold the CTRL key and then tap the F key
		1. Keep the CTRL key pressed until after tapping the F key
			a. This will bring up a FIND window

        e. Enter COMBUFF and click on the Find button

        f. The first entry for COMBUFF will appear on the right hand side window
			1. The entry will be listed as COMBUFF.VxD
	g. Press the F3 key to continue the Find function

        h. The COMBUFF entry will then appear on the left hand side window

        i. You can Rename this folder or Press Delete

        j. Close the Regedit program

7. You will now need to restart your system for these changes to take effect.

        a. Go to the START button and click once

        b. Click on SHUTDOWN

        c. Select RESTART The SYSTEM
	
8. When your system restarts, you will have a Virtual Port assigned to Node 1 of your system

9. You will then need to configure your door program to access the Virtual Port and set access to the door          program as Node 1.

        a. You will need to use the Base Address of 03F8 and IRQ of 4 for the door program.
		1. Your door program should have a configuration file you will need to edit to allow 		    these settings.

        b. Create batch file for the door and place it in your WC5\BATCH directory
		1. Name this batch file DOOR1.BAT

10.  You will then need to add the door program to your Door Menu

        a. Start WcServer

        b. Start WcConfig

        c. Double click on the DOORS Icon
		1. click on the ADD button
		2. Enter the name of the door
		3. Select 16 BIT EXECUTABLE as Door Type
		4. Enter DOOR1 in the Batch File Window
		5. Click on Multi-User if the door program allows this
		6. You will also need to set the proper access levels for the door in the access profiles
		7. Click on OK

        d. Click on DOOR MENU
		1. Click the DOOR1 item to Highlight it.
		2. Once it is Highlighted, click the  To Menu button
		3. Click on OK
		4. Click on Close

You will now have the door program available on your system. Be sure to set
the proper access to the door and also edit any display screens as needed.
