
    Sew an Appliqued Patchwork Pillow

Material:
Scissors; 3/4 yard prewashed natural cotton duck
fabric; ruler; fabric remnants, all approximately
the same weight; pins; sewing machine and poly-cotton
thread; 20-inch-sqllare pillow form; needle.


Step 1:
Cut cotton duck into two 21-inch squares for 'the
case front and back.

Step 2:
Cut remnants into several 5-inch squares.

Step 3:
Press under a 1/4 inch hem all around the pieces.

Step 4:
Arrange the cotton patches in a grid pattern or
interesting configuration of your choice, and pin to
right side of one duck square to create the pillowcase
front.

Step 5:
Straight-stitch the squares into place, then press.

Step 6:
With right sides together, sew pillowcase front
to back, leaving an opening for turning. Trim corners.

Step 7:
Turn case right side out and press. Insert pillow
form into case and close opening with slip stitch.
