Pacific Grove Country Club

JNSE by Donald Fanning

Final JNSE enhancement by Gordon Chisholm

This course is a fictional work adapted from the
hole layout of an actual course of the same name. Don used
the background because it reminded him of the Monterey
Penninsula country in California. Objects were borrowed from
various courses available on many JNSE BBS's. Our thanks to
all designers whose objects were used on this course.

Don sent me this course, asking me to look at it,
and add any finishing touches I thought it might need. I
added a tree or two to the object file, along with a ball
waher, hole signs, bench, and 1 bush, and set to work adding
the final finishing touches to Don's course.

All tees were trimmed with a fringe of fairway, and
checked for level and elevation. Greens were checked to make
sure all pins were on the greens, and most greens had slight
elevation changes to give them a gently rolling surface.
Water and sand elevations were checked to insure that no
water flowed uphill, and no bunkers had mounds of sand
extending above the terrain surrounding the bunkers. All
holes had ball washers, benches, and hole signs added near
the tees, but far enough away to present a clear image of the
objects in most cases. Extra trees and bushes were added to
all holes to close what I preceived as open spaces in the
wooded areas of each hole, while making every effort to keep
Don's look of openess, and ample fairways. The water in the
background was changed to a paler washed out blue because Don
considered it to be too bright. The color of the sand was
also altered to a color than Don considered more appropriate;
which required slight changes in the clubhouse object to
achieve it's original appearance before alteration of the
color pallette.

Don and I hope you enjoy the course and appreciate
our efforts.
