OZLO ACRES GOLF CLUB
An Original Course Design for the Jack Nicklaus Signature Edition Golf Game.
Designed by Ben Renko III.

THE STORY.......
OZLO ACRES is a fictional course set in the Allegheny Mountains of
Pennsylvania. You will not find a fancy Clubhouse, cartpaths (since carts
are not allowed), benches or even ballwashers on this course as I have tried
to preserve the land that was so graciously left behind by Mother Nature.
If you enjoy the serenity and tranquility of the mountains, the OZLO ACRES
is for you.

There are two things in life that are really important to me, my wife and
children and my Rottweiler, OZLO. Never has someone or something given so
much and asked for so little in return as Ozlo has. This course is
dedicated to him as to immortalize him among all the computer golfers who
happen to play this course. Ozlo has been a challenge since he was a young
puppy, much the same way this course is from beginning to end.

THE PLOT.......
The plot is an original design which I built from the ground up. The hills
were the first to be built, then the lakes and tributaries. There was very
very little editing to the plot, once the holes were set, as to preserve
the natural look and feel of the course. I prefer this to editing the plot
on each hole. All of the streams run north to south and wind up in Lake
Jessica. Setting the heights for this to happen was quite a chore, but I am
very pleased with the results.

HOLE ROUTING.......
The hole routing on OZLO ACRES is my own original design. I placed each
hole on the plot, one by one, and "walked" each hole a number of times to
insure the playability of the hole. I had to move a couple of holes as
they would have required extensive editing, and this I wanted to avoid.
I have a personal preference for a par 3 from an elevated tee to a
picturesque green. Unfortunately my plot would not cooperate, therefore,
I had to make some minor adjustments on a couple of holes. Some of the
holes may seem similar, however, they all require different shot selections.
The holes are spread out over the entire plot, and again this is personal
preference. On only one hole is another visable, that being the first.

OBJECTS.......
I kept the objects to a minimum, as to not take away from the natural beauty
of the course. I did however use many of the ones I chose. All of my
objects are taken from Scott Chesney's "Banff Springs".

BACKGROUND.......
The background I chose is from Brian Silvernail's "Rolling Evergreen".
It is one of my favorite backgrounds. I was almost finished placing all
of my onjects on this course when I played "Rolling Evergreen". I liked
the background so much I imported it and started from scratch with my
new objects. This was a major setback in the completion of the course, but
one that was well worth it.

THE PLAY.......
This course plays completely different from the Championship Tees than from
any of the other ones. The experienced golfer should play from the
Chamionship Tees as it proves to be a much more challenging round of golf.

HINTS.......
I do not give any hints about how to play this course, as I am not a good
enough computer golfer to be telling anyone how to play their round. Just
tee it up and enjoy.

CREDITS.......
To my wife, Patti, for all of her support and understanding while I spent
countless hours working and reworking this course.

To OZLO, my friend and life long companion, for all he has done and
continues to do.

To Scott Chesney for the use of his objects from "Banff Springs".

To Brian Silvernail for the use of his background from "Rolling Evergreen".

THIS COURSE IS PROVIDED FOR THE REGISTERED OWNERS OF JACK NICKLAUS
SIGNATURE EDITION GOLF GAME. YOU MAY DISTRIBUTE THIS COURSE TO YOUR LOCAL
BBS BUT ONLY IN THE ORIGINAL FORMAT. ANY EDITING OF THIS COURSE, EXCEPT
FOR PERSONAL USE, WITHOUT THE WRITTEN PERMISSION OF BEN RENKO III, IS
STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

I hope you enjoy the course and I welcome your comments.
