                   Installation Guide for Cyrix486DLC
                                    
                                    
Due to the existing BIOS of the 386 Motherboards, the internal
cache needs to be configured and manually turned on.  The floppy
disk provided with this upgrade kit has the necessary files for
automatic hard disk drive installation or self installation. 
Following are the procedures and explanations to use of the
installation disk.


** HARD DISK DRIVE INSTALLATION **

1) put the installation disk either in the A: or B: drive

2) make that drive the current drive by typring A: or B:

3) type INSTALL to start, it will automatically copy the
   necessary files and add a command line to the AUTOEXEC.BAT


** FLOPPY DISK DRIVE INSTALLATION **

1) copy the files M5.EXE, M5.CFG, and ON.BAT

2) type ON and press ENTER to enable the internal cache


** FILE EXPLANATIONS **

M5.EXE      : executable file to enable the cache according to
              the configuration file (M5.cfg)

M5.CFG      : the configuration file for the intrnal cache
              setting

INSTALL     : batch file to install on to the hard disk drive,
              it will copy the M5.EXE & M5.CFG to the root
              directory and change it's attribute to read only
              and hide them,it will also update or create the
              AUTOEXEC.BAT file and add the command line from
              the source file SOURCE.KL

ON.BAT      : batch file that will enable internal cache
              ( M5 Q M5.CFG  is the command )

ATTRIB.EXE  : DOS external command for changing attributes

