This new release of FTDISK.SYS will allow you use it with DOS 5.0, whereas
the older drivers were not compatible. However, this driver should not be
used with DOS 4.XX versions.

Please use the following instructions when installing and using this
device driver.

1.) Copy the driver to the desired directory, preferrably the ROOT or the
    FTAPE directory.

2.) To install the driver, you will need to edit your CONFIG.SYS, and enter
the following line. Be sure to specify the correct directory path where
the device driver can be found.

    DEVICE=C:\FTAPE\FTDISK.SYS /D2

The /D switch should be used to specify which position on the floppy
cable the tape drive can be found (i.e., if the tape drive is in the B:
position use /D2, if it is the 3rd drive, then use /D3, etc.)

3.) Reboot your computer. When the system boots, you should see the device
    driver load.

4.) Format the tape for use with this device driver by running the following
    command from the FTAPE directory.

    FTFORMAT 3

5.) When this format begins all you will see is the command line prompt. You
should NOT see the floppy tape software format screen displayed when the
format begins. If this happens you will need to bulk erase the tape, or
start a standard format and abort it before it finishes, this way the
format header on the tape is destroyed. You can then begin the tape
    format for the device driver.

6.) When copying files to the tape you should only use the COPY command.
Never use XCOPY or DISKCOPY. This may cause the system to hang, and
you may have to re-format the tape.
