Subject: Patch for BFPRO 3.02

Product: BitFax Professional for Windows
Version: 3.02 prior to 04/01/94

Synopsis:

1. Poor conversion of waveform (.WAV) files into message files (.RIF).
We have improved the conversion driver.

2. When the Receive Manager detects a data call, it would load BitCom
    too slowly.
The Receive Manager will now immediately load BitCom after it
    detects a data call.

3. When the Receive Manager is set up to play the voice/fax/data
selection message, and the users selects a data call by dialing a 3,
the Receive Manager would sometimes interput the 3 as a person
    selecting a voice mailbox.
To solve this problem, the caller can now place the letter "D" at
the end of the data number (e.g., "(432) 555-9304,,,D"). The Receive
Manager will interpet the "D" dial tone (DTMF tone) as an
    instruction to load BitCom.

Make sure the caller enters a long enough pause between the data
number and the "D." The length of the pause depends on the number of
rings the Receive Manager will wait for before answering. As a
general rule, callers should use a four-second pause, adding two-
seconds to the pause for each ring. For example, if the Receive
Manager is set up to answer after the second ring, the caller should
enter an eight-second pause four seconds plus two seconds for each
ring equals eight seconds. In most communications applications, a
    comma represents a two-second pause.

4. When recording a message with a telephone handset, the Voice Manager
would sometimes suddenly disconnect during the recording.
    We have fixed this bug.

To install patch:

1. Close all BitFax Professional programs.
2. Copy the files to the \BFPRO directory.
3. Restart Windows.

Please notify Bit Software Inc. if this does not solve all your
problems, no matter how small.
