ARTISOFT ENHANCES CENTRAL STATION(TM) CONNECTIVITY PROCESSOR

Increased Print Server, Dial-In & PC Docking Capabilities
For LANtastic(R) & NetWare(R) Networks

        (TUCSON, Ariz -- August 30, 1993) -- Artisoft Inc.
announced today an enhanced version of its Central Station
connectivity processor, called the Central Station(TM) II
connectivity processor. This new product will provide five
ports -- two parallel and three serial -- for up to five
printers, connections for up to two modems as well as laptop
to Ethernet connectivity capabilities for LANtastic (version
5.0) or NetWare (version 2.x, 3.11 or 4.0) network operating
systems. Scheduled to ship next month, the Central Station II
connectivity processor will include pre-loaded versions of
the Printer Server and Dial-Up Connection StationWare(TM) 3.0
dedicated applications for $595, MSRP.

"The versatility of the new Central Station II
processor sets it apart from competing print servers, remote
dial-in connectivity solutions and external Ethernet
adapters," commented Dave Hallmen, Artisoft's Vice President
of Sales & Marketing. "Users will have one simple solution
for their multifunction connectivity needs."

The Central Station II connectivity processor is
enhanced with improved StationWare software applications and
is based on ALICE(TM), Artisoft's internally developed ASIC
technology. This new product will include connections for
both thin coax and 10BASE-T cabling and will come with 128K
onboard RAM that is upgradable to 256K or 640K. A new
software capability will allow any or all of the printer,
modem and PC connection functions to operate concurrently
without the need for a dedicated PC. Remote configuration
will also now be possible from any authorized network PC.

Enhanced Printer Support
The Central Station II connectivity processor will
allow up to five printers to operate simultaneously -- two
parallel and three serial printers. Along with the parallel
port and two serial ports found on the original Central
Station connectivity processor, the enhanced Central Station
II processor will now permit the auxiliary port to be used as
a third serial port. The PC interface port on the Central
Station II processor can be used as either a docking station
for laptop connectivity or as a fast parallel port.

The Central Station II version will also allow
LANtastic and NetWare users to set up printers in convenient
locations and connect them to a Central Station port instead
of directly to a PC's printer port. This enhanced
connectivity processor will accept further print jobs from
up to 32 print queues on 32 file servers -- twice as many
file servers as on the original Central Station connectivity
processor.

Remote Network Connectivity
Users will now be able to run two modem connections
concurrently through standard comm ports, allowing for two
simultaneous dial-in connections to the Central Station II
connectivity processor .

Remote access capabilities will be available to a
LANtastic or NetWare network through a modem attached to the
processor. Users can dial in to the network and use all
network resources such as files, e-mail and other
applications as if their PCs were attached locally.

Laptop Docking Station
The Central Station II connectivity processor will
also allow laptop or notebook computers to connect to either
a LANtastic or NetWare network. Similar to the original
Central Station processor, the Central Station II processor
includes a PC interface port that can attach to the PC's
parallel port, which allows for a laptop to be connected or
disconnected without disrupting the network.

Special Upgrade Offer
Because the Central Station II connectivity processor
requires version 5.0 of the LANtastic network, Artisoft will
be offering a special half-price upgrade offer (DOS - $25;
DOS/Windows - $50) with the purchase of Central Station II to
those users who have version 4.1 or lower of the LANtastic
network. Artisoft is also offering existing Central Station
users a special half-price offer ($49) to upgrade to
StationWare v3.0 software. Existing Central Station users
must purchase the Central Station II connectivity processor
in order to use the PC interface and auxiliary ports as
printer connections. Artisoft is lowering the price of the
original Central Station connectivity processor to $495,
effective September 1, 1993.

Artisoft develops and manufactures a full line of
