  directions:ch5, slst in 1st ch to form ring
  row 1:(ch12, slst in 6th ch from hook, ch6, sc in ring, ch 10, sc in
ring)
  8 times, except instead of final ch10 make ch4, dtr (thread 3 times
around
  hook) in ring (counts as ch10 loop.
  row 2:ch3, 2dc in ch 10 loop just made, (ch3, 2dc in last dc, ch3, 2dc
in
  last dc, ch12, slst in 8th ch from hook ch6, slst in last dc (tip
made),
  ch3, 2dc in same dc, ch3, 2dc in last dc, 3 dc in next ch10 loop) 6
times,
  except oit final 3dc;slst in top of ch3.
  fasten off

  to stiffen:cover stretching board with plastic wrap. saturate
snowflake in
  fabric stiffener or a 2-to-1 solution of fresh white glue and water.
  gently squeeze out excess and shape /3 straight arms. let dry, remove
  pins.
