Basic Baby Mittens

Oh, wait - an idea comes to mind for the mittens - but it's for more
for babies than for toddlers on up.  My mom made a pair of mittens for
one of the boys that used the same principle as the slipper pattern:
You start by making the beginning round & add stitches until you have
the circumference you want.  Then just crochet a tube about 4" long &
finish it off (like the slipper foot pattern until you get to the
opening part.)  These are "thumbless" mittens (babies don't need
thumbholes, anyway!)  Crochet a line of sc sts to attach the two
mittens & then thread them through the armholes of the baby's jacket
or snowsuit.


