History: This course came about because I find it rather
exhilarating to work with Ray Beck. He provides a most
pleasant change from working on a course by oneself.
This course started without a name, or very much of
an idea, for that matter. It started with a land plot I'd
done several months back, and the objects from St. Creek. I
designed a clubhouse, but it turned out to be so big we
couldn't figure out where to put it, because I opted for a
course surrounding a lake.
The course went to Ray in Baltimore, and he added
the lake and streams, and sent it back with a new background.
I laid out the holes, taking as much advantage of the water
as possible. The 1st hole is a slight variation of a sample
hole that Ray sent me.
Ray proceeded to fine tune the fairways, greens,
and tee areas. He sent it back to me with some object
placement, and asked for hole quotes for the completed holes.
With the quotes for #1 through #10 completed it went back to
Ray for further hole work. After a bit of a delay, I got the
course back with two or three holes in their basic form, and
quotes being needed for the other completed holes. The color
pallette had also been changed to be a cross between St.
Andrews and Nairn. (Our thanks to Lee Ritze and Brent
Blackburn)
I completed the final few holes, added the missing
quotes, and did a final check on tee and pin placements.
Center lines were also checked at this time, and any
necessary corrections were made. the course is now ready for
play. Hope you enjoy it.

Yardages and pars from Course routing:

#1 - 565 yds. par 5 #10 - 354 yds. par 4
#2 - 357 yds. par 4 #11 - 216 yds. par 3
#3 - 170 yds. par 3 #12 - 429 yds. par 4
#4 - 421 yds. par 4 #13 - 410 yds. par 4
#5 - 552 yds. par 5 #14 - 429 yds. par 4
#6 - 384 yds. par 4 #15 - 477 yds. par 5
#7 - 304 yds. par 4 #16 - 528 yds. par 5
#8 - 218 yds. par 3 #17 - 517 yds. par 5
#9 - 344 yds. par 4 #18 - 314 yds. par 4

Out - 3315 yds. par 36 In - 3674 yds. par 38

Totals - 6989 yds. par 74

Even with the unusual grouping of 3 consecutive par
5's near the end (#15, #16, and #17) the course does not play
overly long, and I do not believe it is overly difficult.
There are definitely ample opportunities to gain strokes.

We invite comments, since we ccan't improve our
designs if we don't know what you think we did wrong.
