HOLE #1 - An easy par 4. Your approach shot is usually blind,
357 * PAR 4 but it's of no consequence

HOLE #2 - Your tee shot cuts through a chute. You have a choice of
528 * PAR 5 two approach shots. either layup or if your drive wasn't
too long, you can go for the green by hitting between the
               two large trees.

HOLE #3 - The shorest hole on the course. Should make a birdie.
160 * PAR 3

HOLE #4 - You MUST fade your drive to score well on this decep-
PAR 4 tively easy par 4.

HOLE #5
562 * PAR 5 - The hardest hole on this course. It is definetly three
shots to the green. Stay to your right and don't be afraid
to go down a club to stay in the fairway.

HOLE #6
224 * PAR 4 - A tough, long par three with a narrow green.

HOLE #7
314 * PAR 4 - Your drive must land between the fairway bunkers.

HOLE #8
424 * PAR 4 - Your tee shot must be well thought out.

HOLE #9
400 * PAR 4 - Your drive MUST be straight and not TOO long.

HOLE #10 - Your choice of tee shots...184 yards to the creek or 230
362 * PAR 4 yards across it.

HOLE #11 - A long par four. A long second shot.
458 * PAR 4

HOLE #12 - This hole is basically a shorter version of #6.
192 * PAR 3

HOLE #13 - The green is reachable in two to the gambler.
525 * PAR 5

HOLE #14 - You can drive this green. The #3 pin is only 314 yards.
325 * PAR 4

HOLE #15 - It's only 309 yards to the #2 pin. If your not a gambler try
309 * PAR 4 a 4 wood off the tee. This hole can go from HIO to a LOT worse.

HOLE #16 - A tough second shot by going directly to the pin. Keep an
437 * PAR 4 eye on the sandbar. Check your caddy for the approach.

HOLE #17 - A breather hole before #18. Excellent birdie chance.
181 * PAR 3

HOLE #18 - The green is reachable in two if you can hit a driver out of
541 * PAR 5 the fairway. Overshhot the green and your out of luck!

This course was started about a year ago. After many Monday nights of JNUG
and JNSE and beer with my good friend Dale Wenz, we challenged each other on
designing golf holes. This would start at work on scraps of paper and carry
over to the design module. We made a great many, but most were lousy due to
our not understanding what we were working with.
Then one night while plaing other peoples courses it came to me. I've been
hooked on Cajun music for years. I thought about the people, the music and the
land. I decided on a bayou course. I worked on this course on and off for
about three months, then became discouraged and put it away.
In February I joined the PNGT on Prodigy. I met some of the funniest, kind-
est, most intelligent and helpful people I'd ever met. My first week I joined
WETSBT. I asked for help from other designers to draw me an alligator. A
couple of them jumped in and tried without sucess. Two particular gentlemen
were sent a copy of my course and told me it was a wothwhile project to per-
sue. Not only did they tell me what was wrong, they told me what was right.
They offered their opinions on how to correct some flaws.
Then about a month later, I met a gentleman who has become a close friend.
He asked if we could exchange our courses. I told him my objects were bor-
rowed (due to my lack of drawing talent) and he gave me some tips. He offered
his help in producing my objects. He and his fiance' drew most of them.
They also subjectively critiqued my course. Without them the Bayou would not
have ever been finished.
I have borrowed from everyone, so if your name is not mentioned please ex-
cuse the oversights, but I can't remember where everything came from.
