On October 1, 1993 Mustang Software Inc., the developers of the
Wildcat! LAN based Bulletin Board System (BBS) and QmodemPro
Communications program will release a new program to link up
their popular Wildcat! BBS to the Internet.

wcUUCP, an Internet gateway for Wildcat!, was shown for the first
time during ONE BBSCON last week to large crowds hungry for this
new product. This gateway allows Internet E-Mail as well as
Usenet News Groups (Public Mail) to be imported directly into a
  Wildcat! Bulletin Board System.

"We realize there are thousands of people who would like to have
access to the Internet for both Public and Private Mail but don't
have an easy way to do so. Our new gateway will allow any
Wildcat! System Operator (SysOp) to provide easy access to the
Internet, to their BBS callers. The end result is, more
individual users will have access to the Internet then ever
before," said Jim Harrer, Mustang's President & CEO.

wcUUCP includes everything the system operator needs to send and
retrieve mail from the Internet. All the Sysop needs to do is
connect to a Internet Host. Set-up is simple for the Wildcat!
System Operator. The BBS actually becomes an Internet site.

For example, when Mustang Software's very own BBS was connected
to the Internet, it became known as mustang.com (.com means
commercial). Now, every user on the BBS has an Internet address.
For example, "Rick Heming" as he is registered on MSI HQ BBS now
has an Internet address of rick.heming@mustang.com.

Now anyone on the Internet can leave messages to
rick.heming@mustang.com and the mail will end up in the
"UUCP-Email" conference on Mustang's HQ BBS where it will be
addressed to "Rick Heming". The interface is completely
transparent to the BBS user. They get their mail, just as if it
  was originated on the BBS.

"The Internet is rapidly becoming the standard electronic e-mail
highway. Having an address on the Internet basically allows you
to communicate with anyone with an e-mail account, even
CompuServe, MCI E-Mail and Prodigy users. It's simply awesome,"
said Harrer. "We estimate over 1 million users log into any one
of our 22,000 Wildcat! Bulletin Board Systems worldwide. I
suspect many of them will be communicating via the Internet very
  soon."

  Mustang's wcUUCP product includes a UUCICO (Unix-to-Unix-Copy-In-
Copy-Out) communications program which actually transports the
messages to and from the Internet service provider. No
additional third party utilities or shareware programs are
required, which makes it one of the most complete packages
  available to BBS operators today.

wcUUCP retails for $299.00 and requires Wildcat! version 3 or
later. Mustang Software has reduced it to $99 as an introductory
price until October 31, 1993. wcUUCP and well as Mustang's
entire line of BBS and communications products will also be made
available through normal distributor and dealer channels.
