WHAT IS AN ELECTRONIC INFORMATION BROKER

An Electronic Information Broker is one that is in the business
of producing electronic information or services for a customer
or client for a fee. Such information and/or services are normally
thought of as intangibles, as opposed to tangible products. However,
services may consist of arranging for the shipment of products and
supplies and the Broker acting as Agent for the Client. These
defined activities are solely at the discretion of the Broker.

The usual Information Broker will have a computer system, modems
and other telecommunications devices to facilitate maintaining
databases, locating electronic information, searching outside data-
bases in order to provide information and/or service to a client.
The computer system usually consists of a desktop Personal Computer,
but may be a Mini-Computer or a Main Frame Computer.

Brokers will normally have a mass of confidential information on the
location of databases containing electronic information, the methods of
searching such databases and extracting the information as required by
    a client.

Electronic information and services provided by Information Brokers
are very adaptable to International transactions utilizing requirements
for speed and confidentiality. Normally such international transactions
are in the English language but many Brokers are bilingual or have
bilingual persons on staff. Because of these types of transactions,
most Brokers maintain a list of various translators.

The lifeblood of any Information Broker will be high speed computer
communications, high pressure work surroundings, extreme stress caused
by the effort in locating specific, and many times very different,
customized electronic information and/or services for a client.
