  Dated 12/11/93

I've had several sysops inquire about the Cam-Mail GOLD door vs the Cam-Mail
Door. Here's a list of features that have been added to the GOLD version of
the door that will NOT be in the regular version of Cam-Mail. Some sysops
ask why two versions of the door. It's as simple as this. Either go out of
business or come out with a new version of the door and have an upgrade fee.
Unfortunately, in order to keep adding features, I need to be reimbursed
somehow. Cam-Mail is a very complex door and works very well (as many of you
know). For $25.00, you definately get your moneys worth. Cam-Mail GOLD is
$40.00, and again, you're getting your moneys worth.

However, there have been a few sysops who feel that they have not gotten
their moneys worth and feel that I owe them everything because they have
supported shareware. To them I remind them of what shareware is. You try the
program out, and if you like it you register it. You should not expect the
author to keep giving and giving and giving. Life just doesn't work that way.
If you upgrade to a different version of PCBoard and bought Cam-Mail for your
previous version, don't expect the old version of Cam-Mail to have all of the
new features of PCBoard for free. PCBoard keeps backwards compatibility and
Cam-Mail will continue to work with newer versions of PCBoardd as well as you
enable the backward compatibilities in PCBoard.

There will be an upgrade charge for future versions of Cam-Mail.

Here's the the list of GOLD features:

4 different types of file attachment handling for users (None, Any, Yours,
and Yours All). The normal version automatically sends ANY file
attachments, which some sysops and users don't like.

  A Session Log for Users

A Partial CONTROL.DAT file. This means that people who use Offline Readers
that can't handle a large CONTROL.DAT file should work since the
CONTROL.DAT now only contains the conferences that they are scanning.

  Support for Read-Only Conferences
Support for Make All Messages Private
Support for Force Echo on All Messages
  Support for Disallow Private Messages
Support for Allow Alias to be Used (Works in conjuction with the Alias PSA)
Support for Maintain old MSGS.NDX file
Support for Level to Enter a Message

The following stuff has been moved to the CMSETUP program (Which will not be
done in the normail version of Cam-Mail):

     Force NEWS : No
     Force GOODBYE : No
     Force WELCOME : No
     Force BULLETINS : No
     Force NEW FILES : No
     Force Duplicate Checking : No
Do Not Init Registration Flags : No
Do Not Charge Time For Door Use : Yes
Swap to MEMORY/DISK during SHELL : Yes
Disable Small Window in SHELL : Yes
Using OS/2 : No (New for GOLD version only)
Using DesqView : No (New for GOLD version only)
Use Old .NDX Format on All Confs : No
Replace PCB @ Codes in QWK Files : Yes
Do not send CONTROL.DAT in QWK : No
Send QWK with Files and No Msgs : No
Send QWK with Blts and No Msgs : No
Allow File Attachments : Yes (New for GOLD version only)
Net Conferences Only for NODES : Yes
Update READ Flag on UNREAD Msgs : No
Do not allow GOODBYE in Door : Yes (New for GOLD version only)

A new HUBDAT.EXE program has been introduced for the GOLD version. If
you're using the NETSM.EXE program, you can now cross reference your
conferences that you're echoing from your HUB. When using the NETSM
program and editing the conference information, it will now show you
your HUBS Conference that you have matched up. This will ensure that
your are setup correctly and that you don't send mail into the wrong
        conference.
In order for this to work, you have to run the HUBDAT.EXE program to
create the HUBDAT file for each network that you're echoing.

These are the features that have been added at this point (that I can think
of). There will be more features added into the GOLD versoin.
