                              WELCOME!

Welcome to Uncle Hanks Shareware Reviews Issue #11

Although I have always distributed my newsletter in
printed form, I decided to try a different approach as well
this time. I'm using a nifty program called Writers Dream by
Jeff Napier. This easy to use progam allows you to
distribute ANY text, book, newsletter, price list, catalog,
etc. as a menu driven program. In issue #7 I did a review
of a program called ALMANAC where I did mention how WRITERS
DREAM was used to create it. The latest version is ver 4.20
and can be found with a file name of DREAM420.ZIP. Look for
it if that sounds like a good idea to you. The "books" you
create can then be distributed as shareware. A small
investment could bring you some extra money!

To order either the Printed Edition or the Disk Edition,
       print out SUBSCRIB.TXT or SUBSDISK.TXT.

*** Have you noticed how prices for computer componenets
have dropped quite a bit lately? Now might be the time to
think about upgrading. I've seen decent sound cards going
for as little as $65 and CD-ROMS as low as $170. These two
items alone will greatly enhance your system. Look around,
       there are some great deals.

*** I'm always asked about selling shareware disks. I've
given it a lot of thought for some time, but I really don't
have the time for such a venture. After all, this is just a
hobby! However, I have decided to offer shareware
collections on disk for $2 per meg. These collections are
available in different catagories and sizes. For more
       information, please write to me.

*** The long awaited version 15 of PCBoard is now out and
installed on Uncle Hanks BBS. This upgrade offers quite a
lot of improvemnets and additions, and it's been keeping me
busy. I just wish I had enough time to do all the things I
want, but the kids have to eat so I still have to keep my
"day job"! Maybe I'll hit the lottery one of these days!!
