 NETWORK BOARDS - GENERAL NOTES

Adding an InBoard 386/PC to a system with a network board, or adding a
network board to a system with an InBoard 386/PC, should cause no
problems. The InBoard 386/PC does not occupy any I/O addresses, nor
does it occupy any reserved memory address space. It may be necessary
to boot at SPEED=1 (4.77MHz) and then use ISPEEDPC.EXE in the
AUTOEXEC.BAT to force the InBoard 386/PC into fast mode so the network
     card can initialize properly.

 3COM ETHERNET

Intel has tested this product with the Inboard 386/PC, and they are
     compatible.

 CODENOLL 3051 ETHERLINK

These are apparently 3COM-compatible fiber-optic network cards.
Customer reports indicate that loading .EXE files from the network is
slower with Inboard 386/PC installed than when the 8088 was installed.
Other file transfers work fine. The timing problem is apparently with
     the CODENOLL card.

     CODENOLL ph (914) 965-6300.

 DECNET DOS

Customers have reported that this software is compatible with the
Inboard 386/PC if the EGACACHE parameter is NOT used in the
DEVICE=INBRDPC.SYS line in the CONFIG.SYS file. If the EGACACHE
parameter is present, DECNET drivers for Remote Drive and Remote
Printer will lock the computer during power-on.

 IBM TOKEN RING

Intel has tested this product with the Inboard 386/PC, and they are
     compatible.

 NOVELL NETWARE

The Inboard 386/PC works fine in workstations, but not in file servers.
The Novell software checks for an 80286 processor in file servers.

 NOVELL ELS

The Inboard 386/PC works fine in work stations but not in file servers.

UNGERMANN BASS PC LINK & PC LINK II

The older PC LINK board fails during network initialization at speeds
1, 2, and 4. This board works at speed 3 if ICACHE is not installed.

The PC LINK II board is compatible with the InBoard 386/PC at all
     speeds.
