 DISK CONTROLLERS - GENERAL NOTES

Floppy, hard, and SCSI disk controllers should work just fine in a
     system with an InBoard 386/PC.

Disk errors can occur because some after-market disk controllers that
were designed for PC systems were not designed for the speed of a
system that has been augmented with an InBoard 386/PC.

There are parameters that can be used on the INBRDPC.SYS command line
that may fix these problems, for example HDWAIT= and FDWAIT=. HDWAIT
sets the wait states used when talking to the hard disk, the default is
     0. FDWAIT sets the wait states used when talking to the floppy disk,
the default is 16. Both HDWAIT and FDWAIT have a maximum of 30 and a
     minimum of 30.

 ADAPTEC RLL HARD DISK CONTROLLER

This controller is incompatible with ILIM386.SYS. The ROM on this
controller uses interrupts 60 through 67 and conflicts with software
     using interrupts in this range.

For the ACB 2070, Adaptec suggests downloading ADAPTEC.SYS from its BBS
and loading the driver between INBRDPC.SYS and ILIM386.SYS in the
CONFIG.SYS file. This driver frees interrupts 60 through 67 for other
     software to use.

Newer versions of the controller (later than the ACB 2072) have a
device driver in the ROM. To access this driver use the DEBUG program
to run the ROM program by entering this at the dash prompt: g=c800:5.
Choose the option to save the driver to disk. Then load the driver in
the CONFIG.SYS file ahead of ILIM386.

 ADAPTEC 400127/00 REV C

Intel has tested this product with Inboard 386/PC, and they are
     compatible.

 BERNOULLI 10+10

To use this product with the Inboard 386/PC, you should upgrade to
Bernoulli software version 2.3 (or later) and upgrade to a recent
     version of DOS (3.X).

 BERNOULLI 20+20

This drive requires a device driver command in the CONFIG.SYS file.
For Inboard 386/PC to work, you must put the INBRDPC.SYS line with the
SPEED=1 parameter ahead of the Bernoulli device driver in the
CONFIG.SYS file. You can then use the ISPEEDPC command in the
AUTOEXEC.BAT to change the Inboard 386/PC speed back to speed 4.

 COMPATICARD AND COMPATICARD II

Customers have reported these high-density controllers to be compatible
     with Inboard 386/PC.

 DATA TECH ENTERPRISES MINI MICRO

Customers Report this controller to be incompatible with the Inboard
     386/PC.

DTC BDX87 AND BDX06 HARD DISK CONTROLLERS

Customers Report that these controllers are compatible with the Inboard
     386/PC.

 DTK PII-158B

Customers report this controller can handle 4 floppy drives, 360K,
720K, 1.2M or 1.44M. This controller is reported to be compatible with
     the InBoard 386/PC.

This controller is reported to be available from Resource Concepts PH#
     (214) 386-5642.

 EVEREX EV390 AND EV391 CONTROLLERS

Customers report this controller is incompatible with Inboard 386/PC.

 IOMEGA DRIVES

The Inboard 386/PC's ICACHE software won't cache an Iomega drive.

 JADE HIGH-DENSITY FLOPPY CONTROLLER

This controller is incompatible with Inboard 386/PC.

 JE1043 FLOPPY DRIVE CONTROLLER

Intel has tested this controller and Inboard 386/PC with 1.44M-, 1.2M-
, 720K-,and 360K-byte drives, and some are compatible (BIOS dated 89
     only).

NOTE: There are at least 2 revisions of the JE1043. Controllers with
a BIOS date of 89 are compatible with the InBoard 386/PC, but
controllers with a BIOS date of 90 are not compatible.

This controller has its own BIOS chip with options of using addresses
CC000 to CDFFF or CA000 to CBFFF or of being disabled. It handles any
combination of two of the above drives. You can purchase the board from
Jameco Electronics, 1355 Shoreway Road, Belmont CA, 94002, (415) 592-
     8097.

 JE1044 CONTROLLER

Intel has received mixed customer reports about this controller's
compatibility with Inboard 386/PC. One user reports that it's
compatible; another reports the controller couldn't do a low-level
format of an ST-251 hard disk.

 JE1049 CONTROLLER

This controller is compatible with Inboard 386/PC, but it won't work
     with 3-COM mail.

 JDR MCT-FH CONTROLLER

Customers report that this controller caused INBRDPC.SYS to lock up in
an IBM PC XT. The hard disk worked fine, but accessing the floppy
drives locked up the computer. This controller uses address C800 for
     its BIOS.
