   DESQVIEW 386 2.X

This software is compatible with Inboard 386/PC and ILIM386.
Desqview provides true multitasking of applications by using the
virtual mode capabilities of the i386 microprocessor.

   PARADOX 386

The Inboard 386/PC is compatible with Paradox 386 in some computers.
It is incompatible in these computers: IBM PC2s and older COMPAQ
      Portables.

Apparently, Paradox 386 reads the computer's "signature" and then
uses the appropriate commands. Paradox can't cope with an 80386 chip
in the older COMPAQ 8088-based computers. If you try to load Paradox
in this type of computer, an interrupt error (interrupt 00, 06, or
0D) occurs, the contents of certain registers are displayed on the
screen, and the computer locks up. If the computer is on a network,
a network error may be displayed. Occasionally the computer may lock
      up without displaying error messages.

ILIM386 and Paradox 386 are incompatible in any computer.

   PC-MOS 386

Software Link (manufacturer of PC-MOS 386) reports that Release 4.0
of PC-MOS 386 is compatible with both Inboard 386 and Inboard 386/PC.
Earlier versions of this operating system were incompatible with
Inboard 386/PC. If you have an earlier version of PC-MOS 386 and you
want to use Inboard 386/PC, contact Software Link for an upgrade
(main switchboard number: (404) 448-5465; technical support number:
      (404) 263-8676).

For compatibility with Inboard 386/PC, you must get special drivers
and software from Software Link. This software corrects a conflict
between PC-MOS and the PC BIOS. There are also drivers that replace
the INBRDPC.SYS driver extended memory handling functions and speed
switching. These files are available on the Software Link BBS at
      (404) 263-8772.

   VM/386

This 386 Control Program is not compatible with the InBoard 386/PC.
It requires a 16 bit data bus and therefore only works in IBM PC ATs
      and compatibles.

   CONCURRENT DOS 386

Digital Research (DRI) reports CONCURRENT DOS 386 and the Inboard
      386/PC are incompatible.

   DR DOS

We have customer reports of compatibility with Digital Research's DOS
      6.x and the Inboard 386/pc.

Digital Research phone number (408) 647-6675.

   INBOARD 386/PC DOS COMPATIBILITY

The InBoard 386/PC is compatible with DOS Versions 3.0 and higher.
The Inboard 386/PC's ISPEEDPC software requires DOS 3.1 or higher.

   IBM PC-DOS 4.0 AND 4.01

IBM did not follow the EMS specification when designing PC-DOS 4.0
and 4.01, so they do not use expanded memory correctly. If you want
      to use a DOS 4.x operating system, try Microsoft's MS-DOS 4.01. It
      uses EMS memory correctly.

DOS 4.xx will allow disk partitions larger than 32MB. Intel's ICACHE
disk caching program supports partitions of up 32MB. If your disk
partitions are larger than 32MB, do not use ICACHE.

   OS/2

The Inboard 386/PC is incompatible with OS/2. OS/2 was not designed
to function on an 8-bit system and the Inboard 386/PC CANNOT mask the
      8-bit system board from OS/2.

   UNIX/XENIX

Both Unix and Xenix are incompatible with the Inboard 386/PC. These
operating systems require more IBM PC AT-type hardware (such as high-
density floppy and hard disks, AT ROM BIOS, additional DMA channels,
and a large amount of extended memory) than Inboard 386/PC alone can
      provide.

   WINDOWS 386

Microsoft has two versions of Windows 386: Windows 386 and Windows
      386 for the Inboard 386/PC.

"Windows 386" is written specifically for IBM PC ATs and compatibles
and won't run on the Inboard 386/PC. "Windows 386 for the Inboard
386/PC", however, is designed specifically for Inboard 386/PC and can
be used ONLY with the Inboard 386/PC.

Windows 386 support:You can get technical support for Windows 386 for
the Inboard 386/PC from Microsoft at (206) 882-8089.
