 JAMECO SYSTEM BOARD

(Field report) JAMECO reportedly claims compatibility with Inboard
386/PC, but Intel recommends you confirm this with JAMECO before
purchasing Inboard 386/PC. Field reports indicate the disk controller
and BIOS are incompatible and must be replaced. JAMECO will supply
Phoenix ROM BIOS version 2.05 for users wanting to use Inboard 386/PC.

 JDR MICRODEVICES SYSTEM BOARD

(Field report) Multiple field reports indicate this system board works
with the Inboard 386/PC, but Intel has not tested it. Using this
system board would be an alternative if you already have an Inboard
386/PC and an incompatible computer. Contact JDR to determine which
system board you need. JDR's number is (800) 538-5000.

 KAYPRO PC

(Field report) The Inboard 386/PC is reported to work in only the
4.77-MHz version of this computer. The Inboard 386/PC cable is
difficult to install and must be twisted. Some users report Inboard
386/PC software problems and floppy disk access problems.

Other reports indicate some versions of the Kaypro BIOS use a
nonstandard method to set up the DMA memory access range. Replacing
the BIOS could solve the problem.

To disable conventional memory to 256K bytes in the Kaypro, you must
set the following switches on switch block 1 of the Combo-Controller
Card: switch 2 on and switches 3 and 4 off.

LEADING EDGE MODEL D - GENERAL NOTES

Leading Edge Model Ds use a variety of system boards and BIOS
configurations. The Inboard 386/PC works in only the following
     configurations:

Two-speed ASIC computer with BIOS 3.0
Two-speed ASIC computer with BIOS 2.13
        Two-speed non-ASIC computer with BIOS 3.0
        Two-speed non-ASIC computer with BIOS 2.13
        One-speed non-ASIC computer with BIOS 2.13

If you're unsure which BIOS version you have, restart your computer (by
pressing the Ctrl, Alt, and Del keys), and note the BIOS version number
     the computer displays.

If you're still unsure which computer you have, examine the back panel
of the computer and match the configuration to the ones described in
     the following sections.

 THE ONE-SPEED COMPUTER

The following switches and cable connections are located across the
bottom of the back panel, from left to right (when facing the back
     panel):

        Monochrome monitor cable connection port
Toggle switch to select monochrome or color monitor
Color Graphics Adapter cable connection port
        Serial cable connection port
        Parallel cable connection port

You may receive a ROM Checksum error on warm boot in this computer. To
ignore the error, press F1. To eliminate the error, include the
NOCACHE parameter on the INBRDPC.SYS command in the CONFIG.SYS file.

 THE TWO-SPEED COMPUTER

The following switches and cable connections are located across the
bottom of the back panel, from left to right (when facing the back
     panel):

        Monochrome monitor cable connection port
Toggle switch to select monochrome or color monitor
Color Graphics Adapter cable connection port
        Serial cable connection port
Toggle switch to select 7.16-MHz or 4.77-MHz operation
        Parallel cable connection port

 THE TWO-SPEED ALTERNATE VERSION

The following switches and cable connections are located across the
bottom of the back panel, from left to right (when facing the back
     panel):

Toggle switch to select monochrome or color monitor
        Video cable connection port
        Serial cable connection port
Toggle switch to select 7.16-MHz or 4.77-MHz operation
        Parallel cable connection port

 LEADING EDGE INCOMPATIBLE TWO-SPEED VERSION

The Inboard 386/PC is incompatible with the latest version of the Model
D because the computer uses the Intel Wildcard as the CPU. The 8088 is
permanently attached to the board. This is the only Leading Edge that
uses BIOS version 3.10. The back of this computer has only one video
connector and no speed switch. The Wildcard CPU stands upright between
the power supply and first bus slot. This computer began shipping in
     December, 1988.

 LEADING EDGE MODEL M

This computer is incompatible with Inboard 386/PC. The 8088 is usually
soldered to the system board, and memory overlap problems occur with
     the Inboard 386/PC.
