NCR PC-8

Customers report that this computer is incompatible. One customer
reported the Inboard 386 works with no memory installed on the board, but
there's not much advantage running it this way.

NEC APC IV AND POWERMATE II

Customers report the Inboard 386 works at the system's 10 MHz setting.
The computer has 640K bytes of memory on the system board, so set the
Inboard 386 for extended memory. Some of these computers will need the
IBM installation kits (PCIB 3001*), while others need the Compatible
Installation Kit (PCIB 3002**). You must check your 80286 socket to
determine the installation kit you need. If your has 80286 socket will
accept a chip with "legs", then you will need an IBM Installation Kit.

Some customers have reported the Inboard 386 will work in the 8-MHz NEC
APC IV. This computer also has 640K bytes of memory on the system board.

Tech Notes: The NEC Setup program is reported not to work with Inboard 386
installed. One customer successfully used the Phoenix Setup 3.3 generic
setup program (for the Phoenix BIOS) instead of the NEC Setup program.
Another solution is to reinstall the 80286 chip, run the NEC setup program
and set the total extended memory, and then install the Inboard 386.

NEC POWERMATE PORTABLE

This computer is reported to be incompatible with Inboard 386. The
Inboard 386 cable is too short.

NOVELL'S FILE SERVER COMPUTER

Customers report that at one point Novell marketed a computer which was
called the "Novell File Server". This computer hardware is incompatible
  with the Inboard 386.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Inboard 386 is compatible with Novell File Server
Software, it depends on what computer the software is being
            run on.

PANASONIC FX-800

This computer is reported to be incompatible.

PC DESIGNS 286

This computer is reported to be incompatible.

PC LIMITED 8 & 12 MHZ

This computer is reported to be compatible.

NOTE: These computers can use either the IBM Installation Kit (PCIB
3001*) or the Compatible Installation Kit (PCIB 3002**).
Check the type of socket on the system board to determine the
type of cable you need. If the 80286 socket looks as if it
can handle a chip with "legs", then you will need the IBM
        Installation Kit.

SMARTEC SYSTEM BOARD

This system board replacement is reported to provide limited compatibility
with the Inboard 386. It is used in IBM PC AT-compatible computers and
uses Award BIOS version 3.01. Normally, the system board memory cannot be
disabled down to 256K bytes, although you can request a PAL from Smartec
that will allow this. Other field reports indicate ILIM386 is
  incompatible with this system board.

SPERRY IT

Intel considers this computer incompatible. Sperry has apparently shipped
a wide range of system board and ROM BIOS combinations under the name
"Sperry IT". There may be some combinations of system boards and ROM BIOS'
that may work, but none have been verified by Intel.

TANDON PCA

Intel considers this computer incompatible. The Inboard 386 installs
easily using the IBM PC AT installation kit. The computer has 512K bytes
soldered in, so Inboard 386 can't backfill conventional memory. Inboard
386 boots and runs with no memory installed but won't work with memory on
Inboard 386. Intel verified that with memory on Inboard 386, the Tandon
PCA locks up on power-up after testing 64K bytes of Inboard memory:

With 640K bytes conventional memory on system board, the computer
counts to 704K bytes and locks up.
With 512K bytes conventional and 512K bytes extended memory on
system board and Inboard starting at 1.5M bytes, the computer
counts to 1088K and locks up.
With 512K bytes conventional and no extended memory on system
board, the computer counts to 576K bytes and locks up.

The Intel Above Board works fine to fill extended memory in the Tandon
  PCA.

TANDY 3000HD

There are two versions of this computer: an older "non-gate-array"
version and a newer "gate-array" version. The older version is
incompatible with Inboard 386 (Tandy has indicated that few of these
  computers are in use).

The newer version is compatible. Use the Installation Kit for AT-
compatibles, (PCIB 3002*). These computers use the AT Chip Set on the
system board. (Look for three square chips similar to the 80286 that are
labeled "CHIPS.") To disable memory down to 256K bytes on this computer,
first upgrade the computer to 640K bytes, then jumper both E7-E8 and E9-
  E10.

    * This Installation Kit is referred to as Packet #HL in FaxBACK
       document 9012.

TANDY 3000FD

Intel has confirmed that this computer is compatible with Inboard 386.
Intel recommends upgrading the computer with a hard disk before adding
  Inboard 386.

TANDY 3000HL

Intel has confirmed that this computer is compatible with Inboard 386.

Use the Installation Kit for AT-Compatibles, (PCIB 3002**). To disable
memory down to 256K bytes, first upgrade the computer to 640K bytes, then
  jumper E8-E9 and E10-E11.

    * This Installation Kit is referred to as Packet #HL in FaxBACK
       document 9012.

TANDY 3000NL

Customers report that this computer is incompatible with the Inboard 386.

TELEVIDEO TELECAT

Intel has confirmed that Inboard 386 is incompatible with this computer.

TELEX 286

This computer is reported to be incompatible with Inboard 386.

TEXAS INSTRUMENTS BUSINESS-PRO

The Inboard 386 is incompatible with this computer. Texas Instruments
reports that the Inboard 386 cable is too short for the Business-Pro's
  tower design.

WANG PC 280

Customers report the Inboard 386 apparently works fine when it's only
providing extended memory, but it can't be used to backfill conventional
  memory.

ILIM386 and Windows 386 are compatible. The Wang 16-bit extended memory
cards can be configured to start at addresses above the Inboard 386.

You should install Inboard 386 in slot 6 and use the AT-compatibles
  installation kit (PCIB 3002*).

    * This Installation Kit is referred to as Packet #HL in FaxBACK
       document 9012.
